The Team
As the Referral Verification Services (RVS) Specialist you will support the 340B program by verifying provider referral relationships for covered entity patients. This role ensures accurate, compliant documentation of referrals, patient eligibility, and prescription claims while safeguarding protected health information (PHI) through secure systems and processes.
You Will Be
- Reviewing and processing prescription claims within the referral verification queue using Sentry’s Sentrex application
- Researching referral providers to validating specialty, practice details, and contact information
- Communicating with provider office staff to confirming referral relationships and obtaining required documentation
- Creating, transmitting, and documenting secure electronic facsimiles (eFax) to protecting patient health information
- Monitoring inbound referral documentation and recording summaries within patient records and system claims
- Ensuring confidentiality and data integrity by following HIPAA standards and secure technology practices
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements for Referral Verification Services
- Tracking workload metrics and supporting program performance reporting
- Applying knowledge of the 340B program to ensuring compliant referral documentation
- Collaborating with leadership and team members to supporting efficient program operations
- Identifying opportunities to improving processes, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Participating in training and continuous learning initiatives
You Will Bring
- 2+ years of experience in the 340B program or a related healthcare environment (pharmacy experience preferred)
- Understanding of healthcare documentation, medical records, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Atlassian tools a plus
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and interpret medical documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a structured workflow
- Strong judgment and critical-thinking skills when evaluating claims
- High school diploma or equivalent required
