Align your credentials to Crunchbase's product scope
Crunchbase's engineering teams focus on data pipelines, search infrastructure, and API products. Frame your resume around experience managing engineers on data-intensive or platform-adjacent products rather than generic software delivery. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims, so your degree and role history need to align tightly.
Research which visa pathways Crunchbase actively files
Crunchbase has sponsored F-1 OPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3. If you're approaching the end of OPT, confirm early whether the team is prepared to bridge you through H-1B cap season or pursue a cap-exempt route.
Time your application around H-1B cap registration
H-1B registration opens each March for an October 1 start date. For an engineering manager role at a technology company like Crunchbase, you need an offer locked in before March to be registered. Missing the window means waiting a full year unless an alternative status like TN applies to you.
Address immigration status directly in recruiter screens
Technology companies processing senior engineering roles move quickly through hiring loops. Raise your visa situation in the first recruiter call, not after the offer stage. This gives Crunchbase's HR and legal teams time to confirm filing readiness before you invest in multiple technical interview rounds.
Prepare for PERM labor certification if targeting a Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship requires DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS filing. For a Product Engineering Manager position, your employer must document that no qualified U.S. worker was available. This process typically takes 12 to 18 months, so start the conversation well before any priority date calculations matter.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Crunchbase posts Product Engineering Manager openings across multiple channels, but not all listings signal visa sponsorship clearly. Search Migrate Mate to surface active Crunchbase roles filtered by the specific visa categories relevant to your situation and avoid spending effort on positions that won't support your immigration status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Crunchbase sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineering Managers?
Crunchbase has a history of sponsoring employment-based visas for engineering roles, including Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. H-1B visa sponsorship for Product Engineering Manager positions depends on the specific headcount and timing of your hire relative to the annual cap registration window each March. Confirming H-1B readiness with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Product Engineering Manager jobs at Crunchbase?
Applications go through Crunchbase's careers page, but roles are also listed on Migrate Mate, where you can filter by visa sponsorship type to confirm a position supports your status before applying. For a Product Engineering Manager role, expect a recruiter screen followed by a technical leadership interview, a cross-functional collaboration round, and a final executive conversation. Tailoring your application to Crunchbase's data and intelligence product focus improves your chances significantly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Engineering Manager roles at Crunchbase?
Crunchbase sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates still within their academic authorization window, TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering roles, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship. Product Engineering Manager is a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which supports H-1B eligibility for candidates with a relevant bachelor's degree or higher.
What qualifications does Crunchbase expect for a Product Engineering Manager?
Crunchbase typically looks for engineering managers who have led full-stack or platform-focused teams in a B2B or data product environment. Hands-on experience managing engineers across product discovery and technical delivery cycles is weighted heavily. Because USCIS requires a specialty occupation link between your degree and the role, a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field strengthens both your candidacy and your visa petition.
How do I think about immigration timelines when targeting Crunchbase?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window (or 24-month STEM extension) sets a hard deadline for transitioning to employer-sponsored status. For Crunchbase to bridge you through an H-1B cap filing, your start date needs to align with the October 1 fiscal year start, which means registering in March. Beginning conversations with Crunchbase recruiters at least six months before your OPT expires gives both sides enough lead time to plan the transition.
