- Work closely with cross-functional partners and engineering teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible through the application of AI to creative problems
- Hire, manage, support, and develop a team of engineers, including staff level engineers

- Figma is committed to building an inclusive and diverse team and culture. We expect all of our leaders to help drive these initiatives through hiring, community events, and cross-functional programs across Figma
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 4+ years of experience hiring and leading teams as an engineering manager
- Ability to think strategically about engineering and product roadmaps, on both short and longer term time horizons
- Demonstrated experience applying advancements in AI from both engineering and product perspectives, with a specific focus on LLMs, diffusion models, and image/video generation
- Proven leadership in building high-performing, highly engaged engineering teams, with a strong track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers while hiring top industry talent
- Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally across Product, Design, and Marketing, as well as collaborating with other engineering teams to ship both customer and internal-facing projects
- A strong sense of technical curiosity, a willingness to learn and grow alongside your team, and a genuine passion for design and craft
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience working with or on design/creative tooling

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Product Engineering Manager Jobs at Figma Jobs
Frame your portfolio around design tooling
Figma evaluates Product Engineering Managers on experience shipping developer-facing or design-adjacent products. Document shipped features, team structures you led, and measurable outcomes specific to creative or productivity software before you apply.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Figma sponsors H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visas for this role. If you're Australian, the E-3 route avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Clarify which category fits your citizenship before your first recruiter screen so you're not misclassified during the offer stage.
Request LCA filing details before accepting an offer
The Department of Labor requires an approved Labor Condition Application before your visa petition can be filed. Ask Figma's recruiting team for the expected LCA submission timeline and intended start date so you can map your grace period or OPT expiry against it.
Target teams with active platform or infrastructure charters
Figma regularly opens Product Engineering Manager roles on teams building multiplayer infrastructure, plugin ecosystems, and developer APIs. Roles tied to active platform investment are more likely to move quickly through headcount approval and sponsorship authorization.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS scrutinizes whether a management role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Gather your degree credentials, job description alignment, and any credential evaluations before the offer stage so your employer's immigration counsel isn't waiting on you during petition prep.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles by visa type
Filtering by visa sponsorship category saves time when you need to confirm Figma is actively hiring Product Engineering Managers for your specific visa. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered to your status before reaching out to recruiters.

Find Product Engineering Manager at Figma JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Figma sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineering Managers?
Yes, Figma sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineering Manager roles. The company works with immigration counsel to handle LCA filing through the Department of Labor and petition submission to USCIS. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Figma can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as the petition is received by USCIS.
How do I apply for Product Engineering Manager jobs at Figma?
Apply through Figma's careers page or find open Product Engineering Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Figma's hiring process for this role typically includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview focused on team leadership and product thinking, a cross-functional design review, and a final loop. Tailoring your experience to design infrastructure or developer tooling strengthens your application.
Which visa types does Figma sponsor for Product Engineering Manager roles?
Figma sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for this role, along with F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions. For longer-term sponsorship, Figma also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before the immigrant petition can be filed with USCIS.
What qualifications does Figma expect for Product Engineering Manager roles?
Figma typically looks for candidates who have shipped software products as both an engineer and a manager, with experience leading small to mid-size engineering teams. Background in design tooling, multiplayer systems, or developer platforms is valued. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is generally expected, which also supports the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B and E-3 petitions.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline when interviewing at Figma?
Raise your visa status early in the recruiter screen so Figma's team can flag any sponsorship constraints before you invest time in the full loop. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiry date against Figma's expected start date. USCIS premium processing for H-1B petitions can shorten adjudication to around 15 business days when timing is tight, and Figma has used this option for candidates with expiring status.
