INTRODUCTION
Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us! At Figma, we’re building tools that help teams design, build, and ship better products together. From Figma Design to FigJam and Figma Sites, our platform helps teams go from idea to product — fast. With Figma Make, we’re extending that vision even further: enabling teams to go from prompt to production-quality code in one seamless workflow.
We’re looking for a deeply technical Product Manager to lead the Make Platform space — the systems that power how code is built, tested, previewed, and deployed in Figma Make. This role sits at the core of Make. When these systems work, Make feels magical. When they don’t, the product breaks. You’ll define the platform strategy that turns Make from a powerful prototype tool into a trusted foundation for building and shipping real products. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Design, and cross-functional teams to define the future of AI-first product development, and how developers, non-technical builders, and AI agents collaborate in one environment. If you’re excited about developer tooling, systems thinking, and building “invisible” infrastructure that enables beautiful, high-craft products, this role is for you. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you'll do at Figma:
- Define and drive the developer platform strategy for Figma Make: how code is generated, edited, previewed, and published, and how Make works with real, production-scale codebases (e.g. code execution/runtimes, preview environments, deployments, observability, and extensibility surfaces)
- Ensure Figma Make stays at the forefront of AI innovation by creating and executing its agent infrastructure (e.g. Claude Code or Opencode or similar) and eval system strategies
- Translate Figma’s AI agent roadmaps into clear platform requirements that enable scale, reliability, and extensibility
- Lead complex technical decision-making across code generation, execution environments, agentic workflows, and deployment systems
- Balance rapid feature velocity with long-term platform health, ensuring Make’s systems are performant, observable, and resilient
- Engage directly with developers and technical customers and bring their requirements into the strategy
- Ship zero-to-one platform capabilities that unlock new product surfaces and enable GA milestones
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 7+ years of product management experience working on highly technical products
- Proven experience shipping developer tools, infrastructure products, or AI-powered technical systems
- Strong technical depth: you can go toe-to-toe with engineers on architecture tradeoffs and system design
- Clear systems thinking: you understand how complex components interact and can improve the whole, not just the parts
- A track record of driving strategy and execution across ambiguous, fast-moving product areas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience building or designing web-based applications or developer-facing platforms
- Experience working on AI agent systems, code generation tools, or programmable interfaces
- Personal experience building and deploying web products (side projects, startups, or open-source work)
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, deployment pipelines, or cloud infrastructure
- Experience scaling platform capabilities across multiple product teams
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Frame your PM experience around design workflows
Figma hires PMs who understand how designers and engineers collaborate. Before applying, reframe your resume around design tooling, prototyping pipelines, or developer handoff workflows, even if your current role isn't in a design-native company.
Target Figma's enterprise and platform PM tracks
Figma's job postings frequently distinguish between enterprise product roles and platform or developer experience tracks. Applying to the right track matters for specialty occupation alignment, which USCIS scrutinizes when evaluating H-1B petitions for product managers.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
USCIS requires that product manager roles meet specialty occupation criteria, meaning your degree field needs to align with the position. If your degree is in a non-technical field, gather evidence linking your coursework or credentials to product management or software development before your employer files.
Use Migrate Mate to find open PM roles at Figma
Figma's open Software Product Manager postings that include visa sponsorship aren't always easy to filter on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles at Figma verified for sponsorship so you're applying where your immigration situation is already expected.

Find Software Product Manager at Figma JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Figma sponsor H-1B visas for Software Product Managers?
Yes, Figma sponsors H-1B visas for Software Product Manager roles. Because product management is regularly scrutinized under USCIS specialty occupation standards, Figma typically requires candidates to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a field directly related to the role, such as computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline. Candidates with non-technical degrees should prepare supporting documentation before the petition is filed.
Which visa types does Figma sponsor for Software Product Manager roles?
Figma sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Software Product Manager positions. F-1 OPT is also accepted as a bridge while transitioning to a long-term visa. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens, and H-1B1 is available to citizens of Chile and Singapore, both with less competition than the standard H-1B lottery.
How do I apply for Software Product Manager jobs at Figma?
Applications go through Figma's careers page, where postings are listed by team and seniority level. You can also find verified sponsorship-eligible openings through Migrate Mate. Figma's PM hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, a product case or take-home exercise, cross-functional panel interviews, and a final leadership round. Tailoring your application to Figma's design-led product culture improves your chances at each stage.
What qualifications does Figma expect for Software Product Manager roles?
Figma generally looks for PMs with experience shipping software products in collaborative or design-adjacent environments. Roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with experience working closely with design and engineering teams. For senior roles, Figma expects demonstrated ownership of product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and cross-functional alignment across fast-moving development cycles.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when joining Figma?
Timing depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders transitioning to H-1B must have Figma file a petition in the March lottery window, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. E-3 and H-1B1 holders have more flexibility since those categories aren't lottery-based and can be filed year-round. For all pathways, USCIS recommends initiating the Labor Condition Application with DOL several weeks before the primary petition is filed.
