We're seeking a dynamic manager to lead a team on our early-stage journey of providing Figma’s users with personalized, streamlined, and intuitive solutions. As Figma’s customer base continues to expand and diversify, and new technological advancements in AI and generative design emerge, the opportunity for AI experience engineering is greater than ever. You’ll collaborate closely with a cutting-edge AI Research team and your work will help raise the ceiling of what’s possible for designers and lower the floor of who can design. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Lead and grow a diverse team of engineers building and advancing Figma’s AI capabilities across core products
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI Research, and Data Science to define strategy and drive a clear roadmap for AI-powered experiences
- Hire, mentor, and retain exceptional engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and thoughtful risk-taking
- Drive 0→1 innovation by identifying opportunities and applying emerging AI technologies to meaningfully improve the user experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 3+ years of experience hiring, leading, and developing high-performing engineering teams
- Proven experience building and scaling AI-powered product capabilities, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Demonstrated track record of driving 0→1 product development, with the ability to translate ambiguous ideas into impactful, production-ready features

If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. - Annual Base Salary Range: $258,000—$376,000 USD
