Align your credentials to Apple's engineering stack
Apple's Product Engineering Manager roles typically require a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. Ensure your transcripts and any credential evaluations clearly reflect that alignment before applications reach a recruiter.
Target Apple's hardware org over software divisions
Apple files sponsorships for Product Engineering Managers most heavily within hardware-focused teams. Roles tied to chip architecture, sensing systems, or device reliability tend to have stronger sponsorship precedent than those in services or app-layer product lines.
Research Apple's LCA filings before your interview
DOL Labor Condition Application disclosures are public record. Review Apple's LCA filings for Product Engineering Manager titles to understand prevailing wage tiers and how Apple structures this role across its site locations before salary discussions begin.
Account for H-1B cap timing in your job search calendar
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Coordinate your Apple interview timeline so an offer can be secured before the registration window, or explore cap-exempt alternatives if you hold OPT or another active status.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Apple openings by visa type
Apple posts Product Engineering Manager roles across multiple sites and teams simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Apple openings by the visa categories you qualify for, so you're applying to roles where your specific sponsorship pathway is already supported.

Find Product Engineering Manager at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineering Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineering Manager roles. Apple is a well-established H-1B sponsor with a consistent track record across engineering management functions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing matters. USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date, so your offer and internal legal process need to be in place before that window.
How do I apply for Product Engineering Manager jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site, or find open roles filtered by visa eligibility on Migrate Mate. Apple's hiring process for this level typically involves a recruiter screen, a technical leadership interview, and cross-functional panel rounds. Tailoring your application to a specific hardware product area, such as silicon, sensing, or display systems, strengthens your positioning compared to a general management pitch.
Which visa types does Apple commonly sponsor for Product Engineering Managers?
Apple sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for Product Engineering Manager roles, with the right pathway depending on your nationality and current status. Australian citizens typically pursue the E-3, Canadians and Mexicans the TN, and most others the H-1B. Apple also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 PERM pathways for longer-term employees in this function.
What qualifications does Apple expect for a Product Engineering Manager?
Apple generally expects a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, materials science, or computer science for this role, combined with direct experience managing cross-functional engineering teams through a full product development cycle. Hands-on background in consumer hardware development, particularly in areas like mechanical systems, chip integration, or manufacturing processes, carries significant weight given Apple's vertically integrated product approach.
How do I plan my timeline for Apple's visa sponsorship process?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and TN visas can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an offer once your Labor Condition Application is certified by DOL. H-1B requires alignment with the annual USCIS registration cycle each March. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period before your start date, and factor in that USCIS premium processing can shorten adjudication to around 15 business days for time-sensitive situations.
