Align your credentials to client-facing work
Deloitte's Mechanical Project Engineers often support client engagements rather than internal R&D. Highlight project delivery experience, client stakeholder management, and systems integration work in your resume to match what their consulting practice actually bills.
Target practices with active federal contracts
Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice regularly places engineers on infrastructure and facilities projects. These engagements tend to have longer timelines, which gives the firm stronger justification to sponsor and retain visa holders through multi-year project cycles.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open engineering roles
Not every Deloitte job posting signals sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse Mechanical Project Engineer openings at Deloitte that are verified for visa sponsorship, so you're applying where your work authorization status won't stall the process.
Get your PE license or EIT status documented
Deloitte frequently requires Professional Engineer licensure or Engineer-in-Training status for project-facing roles. Having your credentials documented and ready to present speeds up the internal approvals that precede any H-1B or PERM filing on your behalf.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Deloitte sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and employment-based Green Cards. During offer negotiations, confirm which category applies to your situation and whether the firm will support PERM if you're on an H-1B and want a long-term path.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
If you need an H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Targeting Deloitte roles in Q4 of the prior year gives recruiters enough runway to complete internal approvals before the registration window opens.

Find Mechanical Project Engineer at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Project Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Project Engineers. The firm has a dedicated immigration team that manages petitions for engineering hires across its consulting practices. Sponsorship is most common for roles tied to long-term client engagements in government, energy, and infrastructure, where project continuity justifies the filing investment.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Mechanical Project Engineers?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Mechanical Project Engineers, along with employment-based Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. E-3 is available to Australian citizens only. H-1B1 is available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals. If you already hold one of these visas, confirm with the recruiter whether Deloitte will support a transfer or new filing.
How do I apply for Mechanical Project Engineer jobs at Deloitte?
You can browse and apply for Mechanical Project Engineer positions at Deloitte through Migrate Mate, which filters openings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you only see roles where your work authorization is supported. Deloitte's hiring process for engineering roles typically includes a technical screen, a case-style interview, and a final panel with practice leadership before an offer is extended.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Mechanical Project Engineer roles?
Deloitte typically requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field, with a preference for candidates who hold or are pursuing Professional Engineer licensure. For consulting-facing roles, project management experience, familiarity with engineering standards, and the ability to work directly with clients are weighted heavily alongside technical credentials.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Deloitte?
From offer to work authorization, timelines depend on your visa type. E-3 and H-1B1 consular processing typically takes two to six weeks. H-1B transfers can start within 10 business days of USCIS receiving the petition. New H-1B cap cases require an October 1 start date, so factor in a six-to-nine month lead time if you need to go through the annual lottery.
