ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Total Rewards Benefits Operate Senior Consultant, you will support work by contributing to Health & Welfare (H&W) benefits administration implementations and enabling a smooth transition to ongoing operations. This role is hands-on: gathering and translating requirements, supporting solution design and testing, coordinating with integration and payroll teams, and helping drive operational readiness.
You will bring practical H&W marketplace knowledge, understand common benefits administration capabilities across traditional rewards provider platforms, and have a foundational understanding of how HCM platforms integrate with rewards programs.

- Document H&W plan rules and administration requirements (e.g., eligibility, enrollment, life events, EoI, deductions, billing, carrier/vendor feeds, reporting).
- Build and maintain key implementation artifacts (requirements traceability, decision logs, RAID logs, status updates, implementation schedules).
- Advise on end-to-end H&W administration capabilities across traditional provider platforms (e.g., enrollment experience, rules engines, eligibility, communications, carrier connectivity).
- Support operational process design (exception handling, case processes, reconciliation, member experience touchpoints).
- Assist with test planning and execution for integrations and deductions (test scenarios, test data, defect triage, results documentation).
- Help identify and escalate risks tied to data quality, timing, and payroll close dependencies.
- Develop or support creation of readiness artifacts (SOP drafts, RACI inputs, escalation paths, training/job aids, service metrics).
- Support hypercare activities: issue tracking, root cause analysis support, communication to stakeholders, and documentation of fixes.
- Partner effectively with client stakeholders across Total Rewards, HR, HRIT, Payroll, Finance, and vendors.
THE TEAM

Frame Your PMP Around Client Delivery
Deloitte's consulting practices prioritize candidates who can demonstrate cross-functional project delivery in client-facing settings. Before applying, reframe your resume around measurable outcomes, stakeholder management, and methodology frameworks like Agile or PMBOK.
Target Practice Areas That Hire Internationally
Deloitte's Government and Public Services and Technology practices recruit heavily for Project Management Consultants and have active sponsorship pipelines. Applying to these practice areas gives you the strongest shot at reaching a sponsorship-eligible offer.
Get Your Credentials Evaluated Before Interviews
If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved organization before your first interview. Deloitte's HR process flags degree equivalency questions early, and having documentation ready prevents delays at the offer stage.
Understand the H-1B Cap and Deloitte's Filing Window
H-1B cap registrations open each March for an October start. If you receive an offer in late spring or summer, ask your Deloitte recruiter whether cap-exempt filing applies to your situation, since timing directly affects when you can start work.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Open Roles Across Practices
Project Management Consultant openings at Deloitte are distributed across dozens of practice areas and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter for visa-sponsorship-eligible roles so you're targeting positions where international candidates are actively considered.
Confirm LCA Prevailing Wage Before Negotiating Salary
Deloitte must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B or E-3 petition can be submitted. The LCA sets a wage floor tied to your job title and work location, so understand the prevailing wage for your practice area before entering salary discussions.

Find Project Management Consultant at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants across its commercial and federal practices. Sponsorship is tied to the specific role, practice area, and work location. Project management is classified as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines, which makes it eligible for H-1B classification when the role requires a relevant bachelor's degree or higher.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Project Management Consultant roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Project Management Consultants, along with the E-3 for Australian citizens and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. The right visa depends on your citizenship, educational background, and how long you've been with the firm. Your Deloitte immigration team will advise on the appropriate category after an offer is extended.
How do I apply for Project Management Consultant jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area, location, and experience level. Many Project Management Consultant positions are also indexed on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for visa-sponsorship-eligible openings so international candidates can avoid applying to roles where sponsorship isn't available. Tailoring your application to a specific practice area improves your chances significantly.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Project Management Consultant positions?
Deloitte typically expects a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, along with demonstrated project delivery experience. A PMP certification or equivalent strengthens your application, particularly for senior-level roles. For visa sponsorship purposes, USCIS requires that the degree directly relates to the duties of the role, so discipline alignment matters.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization?
If you're transitioning from OPT or another visa status, timing is critical. H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates must be filed for an October 1 start, meaning offers need to come through by late spring. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Deloitte can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start on the date of filing receipt rather than waiting for approval.
