Align your credentials to WSP's project portfolio
WSP's consulting work spans transportation, water, and environmental sectors. Framing your PM credentials around infrastructure or government advisory projects, rather than general corporate project management, positions you as a direct fit for the roles they staff.
Target WSP's sector-specific hiring teams
WSP staffs Project Management Consultants through business lines, not a central pool. Applying through sector-specific postings, such as environment and infrastructure or transportation, increases your visibility with hiring managers who control sponsorship decisions.
Understand how WSP structures LCA filings
Because WSP places consultants at client sites, your Labor Condition Application reflects the work location, not WSP's office address. Confirm the prevailing wage tier for each assignment city with DOL's wage database before your offer is finalized.
Request early clarity on the E-3 pathway
If you're an Australian citizen, the E-3 can be processed at a consulate in weeks rather than months. Ask WSP's immigration team during the offer stage whether they'll support an E-3 filing, as it avoids the H-1B lottery entirely.
Use Migrate Mate to surface WSP openings by visa type
WSP posts Project Management Consultant roles across regions at varying times. Search Migrate Mate to filter active WSP postings by the visa types they sponsor, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed for your situation.
Time your application around USCIS cap deadlines
H-1B cap registrations open in March for an October 1 start. If you're targeting a WSP role that requires cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, have your resume and credentials ready by February so WSP's immigration counsel can register you before the window closes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Project Management Consultants. Because the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a related field, it meets the core H-1B eligibility threshold. WSP works with immigration counsel to handle the LCA filing with DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS on the sponsored employee's behalf.
How do I apply for Project Management Consultant jobs at WSP?
Apply directly through WSP's careers portal or browse open roles filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate. WSP posts Project Management Consultant positions by region and business line, so searching by sector, such as transportation or environmental services, helps you find the most relevant openings. Tailor your application to reflect infrastructure or advisory project experience.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Project Management Consultant roles?
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT or CPT for Project Management Consultant roles, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees. Australian citizens are often well-positioned for the E-3 visa route given its faster processing and no lottery requirement. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering categories.
What qualifications does WSP expect for Project Management Consultant positions?
WSP typically expects a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, environmental science, urban planning, or a closely related field for Project Management Consultant roles. PMP certification strengthens your application. Practical experience managing multi-stakeholder infrastructure or government consulting projects is weighted heavily, as WSP consultants are often embedded with public-sector clients from day one.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Project Management Consultant at WSP?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B cap-subject cases follow a fixed annual cycle with an October 1 start date. E-3 and TN visas can be processed at a consulate in two to four weeks after the employer completes the LCA with DOL. USCIS premium processing for I-129 petitions reduces adjudication to 15 business days for cases where faster approval is needed.
