Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
WSP's Business Operations roles often require a degree directly tied to the function, such as business administration, finance, or supply chain management. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation eligibility strictly, so make sure your transcripts and degree field map clearly to the job description before applying.
Target WSP's project-based operational roles first
WSP regularly staffs Business Operations professionals to support large infrastructure and environmental consulting projects. Roles tied to specific project portfolios are more likely to have defined timelines and budget approval for sponsorship than open-ended corporate overhead positions.
Use OPT strategically to build WSP-relevant experience
WSP actively hires F-1 candidates on OPT for Business Operations roles. If you're on STEM OPT, the 24-month extension gives you a realistic runway to complete one full H-1B lottery cycle while gaining internal credibility, which strengthens employer support for your petition.
Search for open Business Operations roles on Migrate Mate
WSP posts Business Operations openings across multiple business lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter for current WSP roles by visa type, so you're applying only to positions where sponsorship is confirmed and not chasing postings that exclude international candidates.
Prepare for PERM documentation if you're on an immigrant visa path
WSP sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Business Operations professionals, which requires a PERM labor certification through the DOL. Gather performance reviews, job descriptions, and educational credentials early, as the PERM process requires detailed documentation of your qualifications before recruitment begins.

Find Business Operations at WSP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations roles?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations professionals. Because the H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, positions with a clearly defined degree requirement in a relevant field, such as finance, business administration, or operations management, are the strongest candidates for sponsorship. Roles that accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field may face additional USCIS scrutiny.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at WSP?
Apply directly through WSP's careers portal and indicate your visa sponsorship needs in your application or during the initial recruiter screen. WSP's hiring process for Business Operations roles typically includes a phone screen, one or two panel interviews, and a hiring manager conversation. Migrate Mate also lists open WSP Business Operations roles filtered by sponsorship type, which can help you identify the right positions before applying.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Business Operations professionals?
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT visas for Business Operations roles, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and is often faster to process than the H-1B. TN status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business function roles defined under the USMCA.
What qualifications does WSP expect for Business Operations roles?
WSP typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations management, or a related field. For mid-level and senior roles, three or more years of experience in consulting or professional services environments is common, particularly in areas like project controls, procurement, or financial operations. Familiarity with large-scale project environments and enterprise resource planning systems strengthens your profile considerably.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a WSP Business Operations role?
Timeline depends on visa type. The E-3 and TN can typically be processed within a few weeks of receiving an offer. The H-1B requires lottery selection each April for an October 1 start, so offer timing matters significantly. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process. Confirm with WSP's HR team which category applies to your role so you can plan your start date accordingly.
