Align your credentials to WSP's project lifecycle
WSP staffs Project Development Managers across infrastructure, transportation, and environmental consulting. Frame your resume around full project lifecycle ownership, not just task execution. Reviewers at WSP expect candidates to show client-facing experience alongside technical depth.
Target WSP's sector-specific business units
WSP organizes hiring by sector, including transportation, energy, and buildings. Search open Project Development Manager roles filtered by the sector matching your background. A targeted application beats a general one when competing across a firm with dozens of concurrent openings.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT among others. Knowing which category applies to your nationality before interviews lets you answer sponsorship questions confidently and helps WSP's HR team route your paperwork to the right process without delays.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
H-1B petitions for Project Development Manager roles require USCIS to confirm the position qualifies as a specialty occupation. Gather your degree transcripts, professional licenses, and any PMP or equivalent certifications before your offer letter arrives so filing can proceed without back-and-forth.
Use Migrate Mate to filter WSP openings by visa type
Sponsorship eligibility varies by role and location within a large firm like WSP. Use Migrate Mate to filter Project Development Manager postings at WSP by the visa categories relevant to you, so you're only spending time on roles that match your immigration situation.
Confirm PERM timelines if you're planning for permanent residence
WSP sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualifying roles. DOL PERM processing currently runs 12 to 24 months before an I-140 petition can be filed. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, ask about WSP's green card sponsorship policy during the offer negotiation phase.

Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Project Development Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Project Development Manager roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards given its requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, planning, or a related field. WSP's HR and legal teams manage the petition process, but you'll want to have your educational credentials and any professional certifications ready before the filing window opens.
How do I apply for Project Development Manager jobs at WSP?
Applications go through WSP's careers portal, where roles are organized by sector and region. Search for Project Development Manager positions and filter by the business unit closest to your background, whether that's transportation, energy, or environmental consulting. You can also browse WSP openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles that align with your sponsorship category before you apply.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Project Development Manager roles?
WSP sponsors H-1B and E-3 visas for most professional hires in this function. Australian citizens can apply under the E-3 category, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. WSP also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for employees pursuing permanent residence.
What qualifications does WSP expect for Project Development Manager roles?
WSP typically requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban planning, environmental science, or a closely related field. Professional licensure such as a PE license or PMP certification strengthens your application considerably. Experience managing infrastructure or consulting projects end-to-end is central to the role. Candidates with client management experience and familiarity with government procurement processes tend to be competitive for senior-level openings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at WSP for this role?
Timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and TN visas can move from offer to start date in four to eight weeks when documents are in order. H-1B sponsorship follows USCIS filing windows, with cap-subject petitions limited to an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available for H-1B petitions and cuts the USCIS adjudication window to 15 business days. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically adds 18 months or more to the process.
