Frame your degree around specialty occupation criteria
Project Development Manager roles at Arcadis require a direct connection between your degree field and the position. Document how your engineering, environmental science, or urban planning degree maps to the specific project lifecycle responsibilities in the job description before you apply.
Target Arcadis practices with active infrastructure pipelines
Arcadis staffs Project Development Managers through practice lines like water, mobility, and resilience. Research which regional offices are actively bidding or executing large-scale public infrastructure contracts, since those teams are most likely to be hiring and filing for sponsorship.
Search open roles through Migrate Mate to filter by visa type
Arcadis posts Project Development Manager roles across multiple locations, but not every posting reflects active sponsorship willingness. Use Migrate Mate to filter Arcadis openings specifically by the visa types relevant to your situation, so you can prioritize applications strategically.
Clarify LCA timing before negotiating your start date
Your start date depends on when Arcadis files the Labor Condition Application with DOL and receives certified approval. Build at least four to six weeks of LCA processing time into any start date conversation so neither side faces a gap between offer acceptance and your authorized work date.
Align your CV to client-facing project delivery evidence
Arcadis evaluates Project Development Managers on their ability to manage client relationships alongside technical delivery. Your application materials should quantify milestones you owned, client outcomes you drove, and the regulatory or permitting frameworks you navigated, not just project scope.
Understand how PERM timing affects green card conversations
If you're targeting long-term sponsorship, ask your Arcadis recruiter early whether the role is designated for EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship. PERM labor market testing adds significant lead time before USCIS can adjudicate your I-140, and starting that conversation at offer stage avoids surprises later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Project Development Managers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Project Development Managers. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as civil engineering, environmental science, or architecture. Arcadis has an established immigration process and works with immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions, including during the annual USCIS cap registration period each March.
How do I apply for Project Development Manager jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal, where you can search by practice area, location, and job level. Migrate Mate also aggregates Arcadis Project Development Manager openings and lets you filter by visa sponsorship type, which is useful if you need to confirm a specific visa category is supported before investing time in the application process.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Project Development Manager roles?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for specialty occupation hires, TN visas for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active degree programs or post-graduation work authorization periods. For permanent residency pathways, Arcadis has used EB-2 and EB-3 PERM-based sponsorship for eligible employees in this function.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Project Development Manager positions?
Arcadis typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, urban planning, or a closely related field. Beyond credentials, the role demands direct experience managing project scope, schedule, and client delivery within infrastructure or consulting environments. Candidates with experience in regulated sectors, such as water, transportation, or energy, tend to align most closely with Arcadis practice line requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Arcadis as a Project Development Manager?
Timeline depends on your current status and the visa category. For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS portability rules let you start work as soon as the new petition is filed, assuming your prior H-1B was in valid status. For cap-subject H-1B cases, you'd need to be selected in the annual lottery, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. DOL LCA certification typically takes seven to ten business days and must be completed before USCIS filing.
