Frame your credentials around PERM requirements early
BKF Engineers' EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship both require a PERM labor certification. Gather transcripts, foreign degree equivalency evaluations, and employment verification letters before you apply, so nothing delays the filing once you have an offer.
Target BKF's land development practice specifically
Project Development Manager openings at BKF cluster around land development, site entitlement, and municipal infrastructure work. Positioning your experience around those project types, not just general civil engineering, gives your application a clearer fit against their active hiring patterns.
Ask about sponsorship timeline during the offer stage
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM filings typically take 12 to 18 months before a priority date is established. Clarify with BKF's HR team whether they initiate PERM concurrently with onboarding or after a qualifying period, so you can plan your status accordingly.
Verify your work authorization bridges the PERM wait
If you're on F-1 OPT or H-1B status, confirm that your current authorization covers the full PERM processing window. A gap between your OPT expiration and an approved I-140 can force a status change that complicates the sponsorship chain.
Search BKF openings through Migrate Mate
Project Development Manager roles at BKF Engineers with active visa sponsorship surface regularly on Migrate Mate. Use the platform to filter by sponsorship type and role so you're applying to positions where the sponsorship pathway is already confirmed, not guessing from a generic job post.
Demonstrate project management credentials BKF recognizes
BKF consistently looks for PMP certification or PE licensure alongside project development experience. Holding or actively pursuing one of these credentials signals the professional standing that justifies the investment of an employment-based sponsorship filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Project Development Managers?
BKF Engineers' documented sponsorship history for Project Development Manager roles centers on employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visa nonimmigrant visas. If you're currently on H-1B status through another employer, you can transfer to BKF while a PERM labor certification is filed, but you'd need to confirm with BKF HR whether they initiate new H-1B cap filings directly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Development Manager roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers sponsors Project Development Managers through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, both of which require a PERM labor certification filed with the Department of Labor. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree and progressive experience. The right category depends on how BKF defines the minimum requirements for the specific opening.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Project Development Manager roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers typically expects Project Development Manager candidates to have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field, several years of project management experience in land development or infrastructure consulting, and preferably a PE license or PMP certification. Familiarity with entitlement processes, client management, and coordinating multidisciplinary consulting teams is consistently reflected in their job postings for this function.
How do I apply for Project Development Manager jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can find Project Development Manager openings at BKF Engineers with confirmed visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship type so you're not sorting through positions that don't apply to your situation. Once you identify an active opening, apply directly through BKF's careers portal, tailoring your resume to their land development and infrastructure project experience. Follow up with the recruiting contact if you don't receive a response within two weeks.
How do I manage my visa status while BKF Engineers processes a Green Card sponsorship?
The PERM and I-140 process typically takes 18 to 24 months or longer before you can file for adjustment of status. Throughout that window, you need to maintain valid nonimmigrant status, whether through H-1B transfers, OPT extensions, or another authorized category. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date becomes current under the DOS Visa Bulletin, you can file Form I-485 with USCIS to adjust status without leaving the country.
