Tailor your portfolio to cloud product leadership
DigitalOcean hires PMs who can demonstrate ownership of developer-facing products at scale. Document specific examples of roadmap decisions, API or platform launches, and cross-functional team leadership before you apply.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before targeting DigitalOcean
Confirm DigitalOcean is enrolled in E-Verify through the DOL's public database. F-1 OPT holders must start within 90 days of work authorization, so confirming enrollment early protects your timeline and prevents last-minute complications.
Find open Manager roles through Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Manager, Product Management openings at DigitalOcean that have an active visa sponsorship history. This saves time by surfacing roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome rather than an uncertain ask.
Align your degree field to specialty occupation requirements
USCIS requires H-1B specialty occupation roles to have a direct nexus between the degree field and the position. For a PM manager role, degrees in computer science, engineering, or business with a technology focus strengthen your petition significantly.
Engage hiring managers on sponsorship scope early
DigitalOcean sponsors both H-1B and employment-based Green Cards, but the Green Card timeline begins at PERM labor certification, which can take one to two years. Ask during the offer stage which pathways the team actively supports for managerial hires.
Build internal transfer leverage through TN status
Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying managerial or analyst roles can enter on TN status without waiting for an H-1B lottery cycle. Starting on TN gives you time to build internal credibility while your employer files for H-1B in a subsequent registration period.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DigitalOcean sponsor H-1B visas for Manager, Product Managements?
Yes, DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B visas for product management roles, including manager-level positions. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap registration process each March. If selected, your employer files a full petition with USCIS before the October 1 start date. Managerial PM roles typically qualify as specialty occupations given the degree requirements and technical scope of the work.
How do I apply for Manager, Product Management jobs at DigitalOcean?
Applications go through DigitalOcean's careers portal, where you can filter by department and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates open Manager, Product Management roles at DigitalOcean with sponsorship context, making it straightforward to identify which positions are actively hiring. Tailor your resume to highlight platform product ownership, team leadership, and developer-centric product work to match what DigitalOcean hiring teams look for.
Which visa types does DigitalOcean commonly use for Manager, Product Management roles?
DigitalOcean sponsors H-1B visas most commonly for this role. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates completing degree programs, and TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For longer-term employees, DigitalOcean has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification.
What qualifications does DigitalOcean expect for a Manager, Product Management role?
DigitalOcean typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with several years of product management experience in cloud, infrastructure, or developer tools. Manager-level roles add expectations around team leadership, stakeholder alignment across engineering and design, and demonstrated ownership of a product roadmap from discovery through launch.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship timeline when accepting an offer at DigitalOcean?
The timeline depends on your current status. H-1B cap cases require registration in March and a petition filed by June for an October 1 start, so your offer timing needs to account for that cycle. F-1 OPT holders can start sooner if the role is authorized under their STEM OPT extension. Clarify at the offer stage whether DigitalOcean will file for premium processing, which reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days.
