Align Your Credentials to Export Control Compliance
Dolby's compliance function covers ITAR and EAR obligations tied to proprietary audio and imaging technology. Highlighting coursework, certifications, or prior roles specifically involving export control or technology licensing strengthens your profile before you apply.
Target Roles That Map to Specialty Occupation Standards
H-1B eligibility requires your Compliance role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria. Frame your application materials around degree-specific requirements in law, finance, or regulatory affairs rather than general business experience.
Search Dolby Compliance Openings Through Migrate Mate
Compliance openings at Dolby that include visa sponsorship aren't always easy to filter on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse Dolby's verified sponsorship-eligible Compliance positions directly and track new postings as they go live.
Confirm LCA Details Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing an offer, verify that the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL reflects your actual work location and wage level. Remote or hybrid Compliance roles at Dolby may require amended LCAs if your worksite differs from the petitioned location.
Use OPT Early to Build a Compliance Track Record
If you're on F-1 status, starting in a Compliance role at Dolby on OPT gives you paid U.S. work history before your employer files an H-1B petition. That experience significantly strengthens both your H-1B case and any future PERM-based green card filing.
Prepare a Dual-Intent Paper Trail for EB-2 or EB-3
Dolby sponsors permanent residence for Compliance staff through PERM-based EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Documenting your role's minimum requirements and your qualifications early makes the PERM audit process with DOL considerably faster when your employer initiates it.

Find Compliance at Dolby Laboratories JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dolby Laboratories sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance roles?
Yes, Dolby Laboratories sponsors H-1B visas for Compliance positions. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which generally means demonstrating that the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as law, finance, or regulatory affairs. Dolby's compliance function, which spans areas like technology licensing and export controls, tends to support this qualification.
Which visa types does Dolby Laboratories commonly use for Compliance positions?
Dolby sponsors Compliance professionals across several visa categories, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing degrees in relevant fields. For longer-term sponsorship, Dolby also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Dolby Laboratories expect for Compliance roles?
Dolby typically looks for candidates with a background in law, finance, regulatory affairs, or a technical field relevant to intellectual property or export controls. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is usually required. Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, or technology licensing frameworks is a practical advantage given Dolby's business in audio and imaging innovation.
How do I apply for Compliance jobs at Dolby Laboratories?
You can find and apply for Compliance openings at Dolby directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for Dolby roles that include visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect regulatory or export control experience relevant to Dolby's technology licensing business, and be prepared to confirm your current visa status and work authorization timeline early in the process.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Dolby Laboratories?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so you'll need an offer and a registered employer well before then. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration and any STEM OPT extension eligibility with your DSO early. If you miss a lottery cycle, ask Dolby's HR team whether a cap-exempt filing or a TN visa is an interim option while you wait for the next registration window.
