Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Whatnot E-3 Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Align your degree to Whatnot's specialty occupation roles
Whatnot's E-3 filings cluster around technical and product roles. Before applying, confirm your degree field directly matches the job description requirements, not just the general industry. A degree in 'business' won't support an E-3 for a software engineering role.
Target teams where Whatnot actively hires internationally
Engineering, data science, and product management are the departments where Whatnot's international hiring is strongest. Focus your applications there rather than pursuing retail operations or support roles, which rarely generate E-3 filings at tech-driven retail companies.
Request written confirmation of E-3 sponsorship early
Once you reach the offer stage, ask Whatnot's recruiting team directly whether they'll support E-3 before you negotiate compensation. Some retail-adjacent tech employers treat E-3 differently from H-1B visa, so getting clarity early prevents late-stage surprises.
Verify your prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Whatnot must certify a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your E-3 is filed. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the prevailing wage for your role and location, then confirm your offered salary meets or exceeds that level.
Use Migrate Mate to check Whatnot's full E-3 filing history
Before your interview, pull Whatnot's DOL Labor Condition Application data through Migrate Mate to see which job titles and locations they've filed for. That history signals which roles are realistic E-3 targets and strengthens your negotiating position.
File your DS-160 and schedule your consulate appointment promptly after LCA certification
Once Whatnot's LCA is certified by DOL, you can move directly to your consulate appointment. E-3 applications don't require USCIS petition approval, so the bottleneck shifts to consulate scheduling. Sydney and Melbourne appointment slots fill quickly during peak hiring seasons.
Whatnot E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Whatnot sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Whatnot sponsors E-3 visas. The company has an established international hiring program covering multiple visa types, and its technical roles in engineering, product, and data regularly qualify as specialty occupations under E-3 requirements. Australian nationals applying for those positions can request E-3 sponsorship through Whatnot's recruiting and HR teams.
Which roles at Whatnot typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Whatnot is most common in software engineering, data science, product management, and technical operations. These roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation standard. Roles in general retail operations or customer support are less likely to meet that threshold.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Whatnot?
After receiving a job offer, Whatnot's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once that's certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule a consulate interview in Australia. The E-3 process doesn't go through USCIS, so there's no petition filing or lottery involved.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at Whatnot?
The DOL LCA certification typically takes up to seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. During busy periods, appointments can book out several weeks. Budget four to eight weeks from offer acceptance to visa stamp under normal conditions.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Whatnot?
Search Whatnot's careers page filtering for engineering, product, and data roles, then confirm E-3 sponsorship directly with their recruiting team before investing time in the process. Migrate Mate can show you Whatnot's historical E-3 filing data by job title and location, helping you identify which roles have genuine sponsorship track records.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Whatnot?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
