Frame your CFA or CFP credentials strategically
Edelman Financial Engines places weight on professional certifications for Finance roles. If you hold a CFA, CFP, or Series 65 license, lead with it in your resume and cover letter, since these credentials signal readiness for client-facing wealth management work.
Target financial planning roles over back-office functions
Client-facing financial planner and advisor positions at Edelman Financial Engines have a stronger sponsorship history than operational support roles. Focus your applications on positions where your degree field directly matches the specialty occupation requirement USCIS applies to H-1B petitions.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Finance roles
Browse Finance positions at Edelman Financial Engines filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. This saves time by surfacing only roles where the company has an active sponsorship track record, so you can prioritize applications accordingly.
Clarify the employer's LCA timeline before your OPT expires
The Department of Labor must certify a Labor Condition Application before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. If your OPT end date is approaching, raise the LCA filing timeline directly with the recruiter or HR contact during the offer stage.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 PERM affects long-term planning
Edelman Financial Engines has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories for Finance professionals. Ask during negotiations whether the company initiates PERM for your role level, since the PERM process through DOL can take a year or more before petition filing.

Find Finance at Edelman Financial Engines JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Edelman Financial Engines sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, Edelman Financial Engines sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions. Roles in financial planning, investment analysis, and wealth management that require a relevant bachelor's degree or higher typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. Your degree field should align directly with the job duties to support a strong H-1B petition.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at Edelman Financial Engines?
Apply through Edelman Financial Engines' careers portal or find open Finance positions filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. Tailor your resume to highlight relevant credentials such as a CFA, CFP, or Series 65. During the interview process, be direct about your visa status and timeline so the recruiting team can coordinate with their immigration counsel early.
Which visa types does Edelman Financial Engines commonly use for Finance professionals?
Edelman Financial Engines has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Finance roles. H-1B is the most common path for long-term employment. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying finance occupations. F-1 OPT and STEM OPT can bridge the gap for recent graduates before H-1B sponsorship begins.
What qualifications does Edelman Financial Engines expect for sponsored Finance roles?
Finance roles at Edelman Financial Engines typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, accounting, or a closely related field. Client-facing positions often expect professional certifications such as the CFP or CFA. Relevant experience in financial planning, investment management, or wealth advisory strengthens your candidacy and reinforces the specialty occupation basis for H-1B petitions.
How do I time my application given H-1B cap deadlines and OPT expiration?
H-1B cap registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If your OPT expires before October 1 and you're selected in the lottery, a cap-gap provision covers your status in the interim. Start conversations with Edelman Financial Engines' recruiting team well before the March window so your employer has time to engage immigration counsel and prepare the petition.
