INTRODUCTION
We’re looking for a strategic finance leader to help us accelerate our DashMart efforts.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Finance & Strategy team accelerates the growth of our business by identifying and implementing new opportunities and solutions. We partner with teams across the company to improve the profitability, scalability and defensibility of our business model. We're looking for people who can use strategy to identify areas of opportunity, and collaborate to help carry projects from conception through execution.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will serve as the finance lead for our DashMart business, DoorDash’s next billion dollar business. The DashMart team is building a store that is custom built for ecommerce to offer groceries, household essentials and local favorites to our customers with unmatched quality. Expansion into new categories is central to our growth strategy as a company, by creating entirely new use cases for customers and expanding our brand beyond restaurant delivery. You’ll join as a senior leader on a lean but high horsepower team, and will be responsible for growing and cementing DashMart as one of the next pillars of our marketplace business, while simultaneously developing the team around you. The person in this role will operate much like the CFO of a smaller start-up, owning a diverse set of finance responsibilities without clear boundaries, and helping to build the foundation of these businesses from the ground up.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Work with GMs and product leaders to size opportunities and make strategic decisions and investments
- Oversee financial reporting and forecasting, and ensure we have a clear and detailed understanding of the drivers of growth, margin expansion and competitive positioning
- Hold cross-functional partners accountable to their financial plan and outcomes, and work with them to get things back on track if they miss
- Mentor and develop new & existing talent to help them achieve their professional goals and scale our team as we continue to grow
- Advise our executive team on ways to invest our resources more efficiently, to move faster and do more
- Build models and develop analytical frameworks to evaluate new partnership opportunities, understand ROI / payback of various initiatives, and forecast demand more accurately, just to name a few
- Ensure we have necessary processes, systems and tools in place to streamline our operations and help us scale as quickly as possible
This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated leader to exert real influence on the direction of our company, and help build a new business that’s still in its infancy. We hope you’re as excited about it as we are.
YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE YOU WILL…
- Provide full financial oversight and leadership for our DashMart business, and directly influence strategy on how we grow and develop this new category on our marketplace while balancing economic constraints
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional partners to develop and own new processes to drive financial clarity, identify opportunities, and measure risks in our business
- Pour over mountains of data in search of meaningful insights, distill them into actionable recommendations, and work with others to convert them into tangible results
- Support planning processes and special projects to improve, scale, and automate forecasting and reporting
- Gain a deeper understanding of how to grow a new business within an established company, and operate one at scale
WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU…
- Have 9+ years of strategic finance, operational finance, FP&A, or investment banking experience at a high-growth technology startup or well-established company
- Have 3+ years of team management experience. Building and developing a team is something you are passionate about
- Have experience owning budgets for major functional areas within an organization, and working with operators on day-to-day execution to hit targets
- Thrive in high-performance cultures, handle stress well, and aren’t afraid of long hours in pursuit of meaningful work
- Embrace ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you know how to find direction and craft a plan of action even when none is given to you
- Lead by example and indirect influence. You excel at navigating a rapidly growing organization with many different cross-functional partners, gaining input and building consensus with key stakeholders as you go. You know how to organize and motivate a broad, diverse and geographically dispersed working team around a shared goal.
- Are relentless. Things never quite go according to plan. You have the determination and grit to keep working on a problem as new challenges emerge, while maintaining the flexibility to adjust plans or strategies as needed.
- Have a proven ability to earn the trust of senior leaders, and influence their thinking on key strategic decisions
- Have experience building and reviewing highly complex models, and developing a team that sets the gold standard for financial modeling. You know how to distill complex financial data into digestible outputs and analyses, for use across the organization
- Are equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and work at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.
- Have a demonstrated interest in logistics, on-demand services, marketplaces and grocery (nice to have)
We expect this position to be filled by 5/27/26.

Align your credentials to DoorDash's Finance stack
DoorDash Finance roles often require fluency in SQL, financial modeling, and tools like Workday or Adaptive. Certifications like CPA or CFA signal readiness for senior positions and reduce friction when your employer justifies specialty occupation status to USCIS.
Target roles with clear degree-to-job alignment
Specialty occupation approval depends on your degree matching the role's requirements. Finance titles like Financial Analyst or FP&A Manager map cleanly to Finance or Accounting degrees. Avoid applying to hybrid strategy roles where the degree requirement is ambiguous.
Use Migrate Mate to filter DoorDash Finance openings by visa type
DoorDash posts Finance roles across seniority levels, but not all list sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for DoorDash Finance jobs that support your visa category, saving you from applying to positions that won't move forward.
Engage the recruiter about LCA timing before your offer
DoorDash must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter early whether the LCA is already filed or will be initiated post-offer, so you can plan around any gap in your OPT or current status.
Confirm E-3 or H-1B1 eligibility before the H-1B lottery
If you're Australian or from Singapore or Chile, DoorDash can file E-3 or H-1B1 visa petitions year-round without lottery exposure. These cap-exempt pathways are often faster and bypass the annual April registration window entirely.
Time your application around DoorDash's fiscal planning cycle
Tech companies like DoorDash typically expand Finance headcount in Q1 and Q3 to align with budget cycles. Applying during these windows increases your chances of reaching offer stage before H-1B cap season closes in March.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Finance roles?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Finance positions. The company has an active sponsorship program covering roles across FP&A, accounting, and corporate finance. For the H-1B to proceed, your role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like Finance, Accounting, or Economics. DoorDash's HR and legal teams handle the USCIS petition process once you receive an offer.
How do I apply for Finance jobs at DoorDash?
You can browse and apply for Finance roles at DoorDash through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters openings by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to highlight quantitative skills, financial modeling experience, and familiarity with the tools DoorDash uses internally. Recruiters in DoorDash's Finance org typically move through phone screens, a technical modeling assessment, and several rounds of cross-functional interviews before extending an offer.
Which visa types does DoorDash sponsor for Finance professionals?
DoorDash sponsors a range of visa categories for Finance hires, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Singaporean and Chilean nationals, E-3 visa for Australians, TN visa for Canadians and Mexicans, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Finance roles?
DoorDash Finance roles typically require a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Senior roles often prefer a CPA, CFA, or MBA. Beyond credentials, DoorDash values strong SQL skills, experience building financial models in Excel or Google Sheets, and the ability to work cross-functionally with product and operations teams. Prior experience at a high-growth tech company or investment bank is a common background among Finance hires.
How do I plan my visa timeline when targeting a Finance role at DoorDash?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window before applying. Standard OPT gives you 12 months, and STEM OPT extends that by 24 months, but USCIS must approve the extension before your initial OPT expires. For H-1B, DoorDash needs to register you in the annual lottery, which opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you qualify for E-3, H-1B1 visa, or TN, there's no lottery, and DoorDash can file at any time.
