Programs will require a strong technical understanding, general cross organization coordination/facilitation, stakeholder management, and ownership of results.
You will report into the centralized Technical Program Management team in Engineering. You must be located in either the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle.

- Planning & Execution Optimization - You will drive optimization related to planning Engineering objectives and key results, develop frameworks for team execution/tracking, and provide visibility to resource allocation and prioritizations.
- Domain Technical Depth - You will develop a full understanding of our technical stack and interdependencies, allowing you to contribute to designs and ensure they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
- Stakeholder Management - Manage expectations for all stakeholders from leadership to individual teams, possess strong problem solving and negotiation skills, and earn trust of partners and teams.
- Navigating the Organization - Understand engineers and enjoy working with them, building trust by developing strong technical domain knowledge that adds value beyond project management.
- Communications - Manage timely and succinct communications to leadership and across teams to ensure accountability and timeline management.
- Process - Develop processes to ensure teamwork is streamlined to manage complexity and optimized velocity. You are thoughtful about how and when to implement processes with a light touch and clear understanding of success within DoorDash's culture.

We're excited about you because…
- You're experienced in working with large-scale distributed systems, as well as client-side and platform teams, who own Tier 0 services serving external customers. You can speak to system architecture, scalability and reliability decisions, and design trade offs.

- You have strong ownership, urgency, and drive. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and drive into the details to understand and drive your programs.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with confidence, clarity, and focus. You can convey concepts and considerations to non-experts and experts alike.
- You've engaged with Engineering teams on product & platform development with a thorough understanding of software development processes and project planning.
- You are pragmatic and detailed in your approach and focus on progress, not perfection.

Frame your TPM credentials around delivery systems
DoorDash prioritizes TPM candidates with experience managing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems programs. Tailor your resume to show cross-functional program delivery in high-velocity engineering environments, not just project coordination.
Target roles tied to core logistics products
DoorDash's deepest TPM hiring sits within platform, merchant, and fulfillment engineering. Applying to roles in these verticals improves your chances of landing on a team with existing sponsorship infrastructure and established immigration workflows.
Clarify visa type eligibility before the offer stage
DoorDash sponsors multiple visa categories for TPM roles. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration timeline upfront so the recruiting team can align H-1B cap filing or OPT extension paperwork before your authorization lapses.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
USCIS requires TPM roles to qualify as specialty occupations. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before the offer stage, since DoorDash's immigration counsel will need it for the H-1B petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter DoorDash TPM openings by visa type
Browsing by role and sponsorship type saves time when targeting a specific employer. Migrate Mate lets you filter Technical Program Manager jobs at DoorDash by the visa categories they support, so you only pursue openings that match your status.
Negotiate your start date around USCIS processing windows
H-1B cap cases have an October 1 start date, and USCIS standard processing runs three to five months. When finalizing your offer with DoorDash, confirm your start date accounts for this window or whether premium processing is available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Program Managers?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Program Manager roles. TPM positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field. DoorDash works with immigration counsel to handle petitions, but you should confirm sponsorship availability with your recruiter early in the process since it can vary by team and headcount.
How do I apply for Technical Program Manager jobs at DoorDash?
Applications go through DoorDash's careers portal at careers.doordash.com. Search for Technical Program Manager roles and filter by the engineering or product vertical that aligns with your background. You can also browse open TPM positions at DoorDash filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles that match your work authorization status before you apply.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly use for Technical Program Manager roles?
DoorDash sponsors several visa categories for TPM positions, including H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and H-1B1 visa, as well as F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates earlier in their authorization timeline. For longer-term employment, DoorDash also supports Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications, typically initiated after a period of employment through the PERM labor certification process with the DOL.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Technical Program Manager roles?
DoorDash TPM roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, along with experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in a software or infrastructure environment. Familiarity with agile delivery frameworks, strong stakeholder communication skills, and prior exposure to large-scale distributed systems are consistently emphasized across their TPM job postings. Senior roles often expect prior experience leading multi-team program execution.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a DoorDash TPM offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B cap cases require USCIS lottery selection in March and carry an October 1 start date, so total lead time from offer to work authorization can be six months or more. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often within four to eight weeks of an approved Labor Condition Application from the DOL. Cap-exempt situations, such as a transfer from another H-1B employer, can proceed on a shorter timeline.
