INTRODUCTION
Senior DBA & Data Engineer (Azure & ETL) Our client, a leader in their industry, has an excellent opportunity for a Senior DBA & Data Engineer (Azure & ETL) to work on a 9+ month contract with an option to convert to a permanent position, working 100% remote (CST hours). This role offers the opportunity to build a new greenfield modern, scalable data ecosystem from the ground up while partnering with high-impact BI initiatives.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w-2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $70/hour - $80/hour w-2
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage enterprise-grade Azure-based databases and data warehouse solutions from the ground up
- Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from systems such as Salesforce, Oracle EBS, Workday, and other SaaS platforms
- Create and optimize logical and physical data models to support high-performance Power BI reporting and analytics
- Own all DBA responsibilities including performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and database optimization
- Collaborate with BI and business teams to ensure clean, usable, and well-structured data for reporting and decision-making
- Work with REST APIs and other integration patterns to extract and synchronize data from business applications
- Develop and maintain orchestration and automation workflows using integration tools such as Power Automate and similar platforms
REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of experience in database administration, data warehouse engineering, database engineering, or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure database technologies (Azure SQL, SQL Server)
- Proven experience building ETL pipelines from scratch and managing end-to-end data integrations
- Deep expertise in data modeling, database design, and data warehouse architecture
- Strong DBA background including performance tuning, indexing, and database administration best practices
- Experience with Power Automate and designing integration workflows across multiple systems
PREFERRED:
- Healthcare experience (HIPPA data experience)
- Snowflake
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available and that may result in pay outside of the range provided.
