Align your certifications with Fortinet's security stack
Fortinet's cybersecurity roles frequently require hands-on familiarity with firewalls, SIEM platforms, and endpoint detection tools. Certifications like CISSP, CEH, or Fortinet's own NSE credentials signal technical readiness before you even apply.
Target roles that match your visa category
Fortinet sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT candidates, but not every role maps cleanly to every visa type. Research which cybersecurity positions are classified as specialty occupations before applying, since that designation is what makes H-1B eligibility possible.
Use Migrate Mate to find open cybersecurity roles at Fortinet
Fortinet's cybersecurity openings are spread across product security, threat research, and SOC functions. Migrate Mate lets you filter active Fortinet listings by visa sponsorship type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for technical interviews before asking about sponsorship
Recruiters at technology companies evaluate visa candidates on technical merit first. Lead with your security engineering skills during interviews. Raise sponsorship logistics after you've demonstrated you're the strongest candidate for the role.

Find Cybersecurity at Fortinet JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fortinet sponsor H-1B visas for Cybersecurity roles?
Yes, Fortinet sponsors H-1B visas for cybersecurity positions. Roles in areas like network security engineering, threat intelligence, and security operations typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, which is the threshold required for H-1B eligibility. Your degree field should align with the specific technical requirements of the role you're applying for.
How do I apply for Cybersecurity jobs at Fortinet?
Apply directly through Fortinet's careers portal, where listings are organized by function and location. Migrate Mate also aggregates Fortinet's cybersecurity openings and filters them by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify which roles are open to international candidates. Tailor your resume to the specific security domain the role covers, whether that's network security, cloud security, or threat research.
Which visa types does Fortinet commonly sponsor for Cybersecurity positions?
Fortinet sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for cybersecurity roles, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. OPT candidates benefit from Fortinet's E-Verify enrollment, which unlocks the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
What qualifications does Fortinet expect for Cybersecurity roles?
Most Fortinet cybersecurity roles require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, or SIEM platforms is commonly expected. Industry certifications like CISSP, Security+, or Fortinet's NSE certifications strengthen your application, particularly for roles in security engineering or threat analysis.
How do I plan my timeline if Fortinet is sponsoring my H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject filings open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, confirm your expiration date and whether a cap-gap period applies while your petition is pending. Fortinet's HR and legal teams typically manage the USCIS filing process, but you should clarify early whether they use premium processing, which reduces adjudication time to around 15 business days.
