Frame your resume around retail operations metrics
Gap's operations roles prioritize candidates who can demonstrate measurable impact in inventory management, store performance, or supply chain efficiency. Quantify process improvements and cost reductions from previous retail or consumer-facing roles before you apply.
Target Gap's corporate and regional office postings
Business Operations Manager positions at Gap are posted across headquarters in San Francisco and regional offices. Filter your search by location to find roles with dedicated corporate sponsorship infrastructure, where visa petition workflows are already established.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Gap's open operations roles
Gap regularly posts Business Operations Manager openings across multiple regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Gap roles that accept visa sponsorship, so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage requirements in your target location
Gap's LCA filings tie your offered salary to DOL prevailing wage standards for the specific metro area. Research wage levels for Business Operations Manager roles in your preferred city so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Account for H-1B cap timing in your job search schedule
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Targeting a Gap offer before February gives your employer enough runway to register you before the window closes.

Find Business Operations Manager at Gap JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Gap sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations Managers?
Yes, Gap sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations Manager roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field. Gap's in-house immigration team manages the petition process, which means the infrastructure is in place, but offer timing still needs to align with USCIS cap deadlines if you're cap-subject.
How do I apply for Business Operations Manager jobs at Gap?
Applications go through Gap Inc.'s careers portal, where Business Operations Manager roles are listed by brand and location. Tailor your application to highlight retail operations experience, cross-functional project leadership, and data-driven decision-making. You can also browse Gap's open sponsorship-eligible roles on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions where visa sponsorship is available, saving you from applying to roles where it isn't.
Which visa types does Gap commonly use for Business Operations Manager roles?
Gap sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most nationalities, E-3 visas for Australian citizens, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupational categories. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Gap also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for recent graduates in the early stages of their careers.
What qualifications does Gap expect for a sponsored Business Operations Manager?
Gap generally looks for a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain, or a related discipline, combined with several years of experience in a retail or consumer goods environment. Familiarity with inventory systems, vendor management, and cross-functional project coordination is consistently weighted heavily. Candidates who've worked across multiple retail formats or managed P&L components tend to be competitive for sponsored roles.
How do I think about the visa sponsorship timeline when targeting Gap?
The timeline depends on your visa category. E-3 and TN visas can often be processed in weeks, making them faster options if you qualify. Cap-subject H-1B petitions follow a fixed annual schedule, with USCIS registration in March and employment start dates no earlier than October 1. Building at least six months of lead time into your Gap job search gives you the most flexibility across sponsorship scenarios.
