Frame Your Experience Around Fleet Operations
Hertz Business Operations Manager roles center on fleet utilization, location performance, and operational efficiency. Tailor your resume to highlight experience managing asset-heavy operations, cost control, or logistics coordination rather than generic business management.
Target Locations With High Operational Volume
Hertz concentrates Business Operations Manager hiring around major airport hubs and high-traffic metro markets. Applying to roles in those corridors improves your odds of reaching a hiring team with active headcount approval and sponsorship budget already in place.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Roles
Not every Hertz posting will result in a sponsored offer. Use Migrate Mate to identify Business Operations Manager openings where Hertz has a confirmed sponsorship history, so you're investing time in applications most likely to lead to a visa filing.
Clarify Sponsorship Eligibility Before the Final Interview
Hertz operates across rental, leasing, and fleet management segments with varying HR structures. Ask the recruiter during screening which business unit is hiring and whether they've confirmed sponsorship approval for the specific role, not just the company generally.
Understand the PERM Timeline for Permanent Residency
If you're targeting a Green Card through Hertz, the PERM labor certification process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition. Factor that into your overall career planning, especially if you're transitioning off OPT or a TN.
Prepare Your Degree Equivalency Documentation Early
H-1B specialty occupation petitions for Business Operations Manager roles require USCIS to confirm your degree directly relates to the position. If your degree is in a tangential field, gather course transcripts and a credentials evaluation before your employer initiates the filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hertz sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations Managers?
Yes, Hertz sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations Manager roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given its requirements around operations strategy, financial analysis, and cross-functional management. Sponsorship decisions are made at the business unit level, so confirm with your specific recruiter that the role in question has active sponsorship approval before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Business Operations Manager jobs at Hertz?
You can apply through Hertz's careers portal or browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you're not wasting applications on positions that won't result in a filing. When applying, highlight operational metrics, fleet or asset management experience, and any cross-functional leadership scope, since those align directly with what Hertz looks for in this function.
Which visa types does Hertz commonly use for Business Operations Manager roles?
Hertz supports several pathways for Business Operations Managers, including the H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management classifications, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates in their early career. For longer-term candidates, Hertz also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process filed with DOL.
What qualifications does Hertz expect for a sponsored Business Operations Manager?
Hertz generally looks for a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience managing multi-site or high-volume operational environments. For visa sponsorship purposes under the H-1B, USCIS requires the degree to relate directly to the role, so candidates with degrees in tangential fields should prepare a credentials evaluation and supporting documentation before the petition is filed.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Hertz to sponsor my visa?
If you need an H-1B cap-subject petition, the annual lottery registration window opens in March and employment can start no earlier than October 1 of the same year. Build backward from that deadline when targeting Hertz roles. For TN or OPT transfers, timelines are shorter, but confirm with Hertz HR how much lead time they require internally before initiating any USCIS or DOL filing.
