-
Scale our marketing engine: As Whatnot dramatically scales its investment in marketing, bring business-side rigor to how capital is deployed, measured, and prioritized — deep-diving into complex channel decisions, building nascent capabilities, and ensuring the org and hiring roadmap keeps pace with our ambitions.

Frame experience around marketplace operations metrics
Whatnot's Business Operations roles prioritize candidates who can demonstrate impact on seller growth, GMV, or category expansion. Quantify your experience with operational KPIs specific to e-commerce or live commerce platforms before you apply.
Target roles tied to Whatnot's category expansion
Whatnot frequently opens Business Operations Manager positions as it enters new verticals like sports cards, sneakers, and collectibles. Roles tied to active category growth are more likely to move quickly through headcount approval, which matters for tight OPT timelines.
Ask about LCA filing timelines during the offer stage
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process an H-1B or E-3 petition. Clarify with Whatnot's HR team which immigration counsel they use and how long their internal process takes from offer acceptance to petition filing.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Business Operations openings
Whatnot posts Business Operations Manager roles across multiple channels and hiring cycles. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions at Whatnot that support visa sponsorship, so you're applying to live roles rather than outdated listings.
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B and E-3 petitions to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For Business Operations Manager positions, a degree in business administration, operations management, or a directly related field strengthens the petition and reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.

Find Business Operations Manager at Whatnot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Whatnot sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations Managers?
Yes, Whatnot sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations Manager roles. The process requires your employer to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL, followed by an H-1B petition with USCIS. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing your application to the April lottery window is critical. Cap-exempt scenarios, such as transfers from a cap-exempt employer, have more flexibility.
How do I apply for Business Operations Manager jobs at Whatnot?
You can browse and apply for Business Operations Manager openings at Whatnot through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles that support visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to Whatnot's marketplace and live commerce context, and be explicit about your visa status and any authorization timeline. Recruiters at growth-stage companies like Whatnot move quickly, so a focused application with clear sponsorship details avoids unnecessary back-and-forth.
Which visa types does Whatnot commonly use for Business Operations Manager roles?
Whatnot sponsors a range of visa categories for Business Operations Manager positions, including H-1B, E-3 (for Australian citizens), TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT (for recent graduates), J-1, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process. Confirming which pathway fits your situation before interviews saves significant time.
What qualifications does Whatnot expect for Business Operations Manager roles?
Whatnot typically looks for candidates with experience in marketplace operations, seller growth, or category management within e-commerce or consumer tech. A bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field is standard, and it also supports H-1B and E-3 specialty occupation requirements. Experience with cross-functional program management, data-driven decision making, and scaling operational processes in a high-growth environment is consistently reflected in the role requirements.
How do I manage my visa timeline when pursuing a Business Operations Manager role at Whatnot?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period and OPT expiration date should be communicated clearly to Whatnot's recruiting team from the start. For H-1B cap cases, USCIS requires petitions to be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so an offer in Q1 is the practical target. For E-3 applicants, consular processing in Australia typically takes two to four weeks, giving more flexibility on start dates.
