-
Scale our marketing engine: As Whatnot dramatically scales its investment in marketing, bring business-side rigor to how capital is deployed, measured, and prioritized — deep-diving into complex channel decisions, building nascent capabilities, and ensuring the org and hiring roadmap keeps pace with our ambitions.

Build a great business: Partner with StratFin and Data to ensure we are building a healthy, durable business — leading analyses across our key margin levers and growth investments, informing pricing decisions, and translating findings into concrete recommendations and actions for leadership.
-
Help Whatnot run better: Build tooling to serve as a single source of truth for tracking progress against aggressive goals, highlighting key metrics, resource allocation, and blockers — helping teams stay lean and iterate faster.
-
Deliver for our users: Be among the first to pressure-test new products and capabilities Whatnot is building, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate what we learn into initiatives that improve the buyer and seller experience — and owning resolution of high-impact issues end-to-end when things go wrong.

Align your experience with live commerce operations
Whatnot's Business Manager roles prioritize candidates with experience managing seller ecosystems, category growth, or marketplace operations. Frame your resume around measurable outcomes in retail or e-commerce contexts, not just general management credentials.
Use Migrate Mate to target open Business Manager roles at Whatnot
Whatnot posts Business Manager openings across multiple verticals. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Whatnot that match your visa category, so you're not applying to positions that won't support your sponsorship pathway.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For Business Manager positions, gather documentation showing your degree directly relates to the responsibilities, particularly in marketplace strategy or category management.
Negotiate your start date around DOL LCA certification
Your employer must file and receive a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B or E-3 petition. Build at least two to three weeks of LCA processing time into any verbal start date you discuss with Whatnot.

Find Business Manager at Whatnot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Whatnot sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Whatnot sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The process requires your employer to first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B cases, you must be selected in the annual lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Whatnot?
You can browse and apply for Business Manager positions at Whatnot through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm the position supports your status before applying. Whatnot's Business Manager roles span category management, seller growth, and operations, so tailor your application to the specific vertical you're targeting.
Which visa types does Whatnot commonly sponsor for Business Manager roles?
Whatnot sponsors a broad range of visa categories for Business Manager positions, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 for candidates pursuing a Green Card pathway. The right fit depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage.
What qualifications does Whatnot expect for Business Manager roles?
Whatnot typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in marketplace operations, category management, or retail strategy. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree needs to be directly relevant to the specific Business Manager function you're applying for, which matters for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Whatnot?
Timeline depends on your visa type. E-3 and TN petitions can often be processed in weeks, while H-1B cap cases require lottery selection in March and a start date no earlier than October 1. USCIS premium processing for H-1B petitions is available for an additional fee and guarantees a 15 business day adjudication window, which can help align your start date with Whatnot's hiring needs.
