Frame experience around fleet-specific operations metrics
Hertz Business Operations roles often center on vehicle utilization, yield management, and location-level performance. Tailor your resume to show measurable impact on similar operational KPIs rather than generic project management or analyst credentials.
Confirm your degree aligns with specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Business Operations petitions to demonstrate a direct relationship between your degree field and the role. Operations management, industrial engineering, or finance degrees map cleanly; broader degrees may need supporting evidence of coursework or experience specific to transportation or fleet industries.
Target Hertz's corporate and regional operations teams directly
Hertz staffs Business Operations across both its Estero headquarters and regional hubs. Roles posted at corporate level are more likely to carry sponsorship support than location-based operational positions, so filter applications toward those listings when you can.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsored Business Operations openings
Not every Hertz job listing signals visa sponsorship clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Business Operations roles at Hertz that have an active sponsorship track record, so you're only spending time on applications where your visa situation isn't a disqualifier.
Time your application around OPT cap-gap if you're on F-1
If your OPT expires before an H-1B October 1 start date, the cap-gap provision protects your work authorization during the gap. Hertz HR teams familiar with F-1 transitions will recognize this, but confirm the timeline with your DSO before your offer stage.
Get the LCA wage tier confirmed before negotiating your offer
Hertz must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B petition. The LCA locks in a prevailing wage level for your specific job title and location, which sets a floor on your offer. Understanding which wage tier applies to your role helps you negotiate from an informed position.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Hertz sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Hertz has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. The company operates as a large employer with an HR infrastructure familiar with the H-1B process, including Labor Condition Application filings through DOL and I-129 petitions with USCIS. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific role, level, and business need at the time of hiring, so confirming sponsorship intent early in the interview process is advisable.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Hertz?
Apply directly through Hertz's careers site, filtering by Business Operations or related functions like fleet management, revenue strategy, or corporate planning. For roles where visa sponsorship is a factor, Migrate Mate lets you browse Hertz Business Operations openings that have a verified sponsorship history, helping you prioritize applications before investing time in the interview process.
Which visa types does Hertz typically use for Business Operations roles?
Hertz has used H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Operations hires. H-1B is the most common route for full-time roles requiring specialty occupation status. TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying operations or analyst positions. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering Hertz's operations teams before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Hertz expect for sponsored Business Operations roles?
Hertz typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, finance, or a related field, along with experience in data analysis, process improvement, or fleet and logistics operations. For H-1B eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the degree requirement must be specific to the position rather than a general preference. Relevant industry experience in rental, leasing, or transportation logistics strengthens both your application and the sponsorship case.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Hertz Business Operations hire?
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, Hertz would typically file your H-1B petition in April for an October 1 start date, subject to the annual lottery. Standard USCIS processing takes three to five months after selection; premium processing through USCIS can return a decision within 15 business days for an additional fee. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, if offered, typically takes significantly longer and depends on your country of birth and the applicable priority date.
