Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupations
Genesis's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technology and software, meaning engineering, development, and technical roles are your strongest entry points. Focus your application on positions where a specialized degree is a stated requirement, not just preferred.
Understand that Genesis sponsors both temporary and permanent visas
Genesis supports H-1B for near-term work authorization and EB-2 or EB-3 for permanent residency. When evaluating an offer, ask directly about their Green Card sponsorship timeline so you understand the long-term immigration pathway available to you.
Lead with technical depth in your application
For a technology company like Genesis, sponsoring a visa is a deliberate investment. Applications that demonstrate specialized, hard-to-source skills signal that sponsorship is worthwhile. Make the case for your expertise clearly in your resume and cover letter.
Ask about internal immigration support early in the process
Active sponsors like Genesis typically work with immigration counsel to manage filings. During interviews, ask whether they have a dedicated HR immigration contact, this signals process maturity and helps you gauge how smoothly sponsorship is handled.
Time your outreach around H-1B cap season
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, Genesis would need to register you by the March deadline for an October start. Factor this into your job search timeline and prioritize outreach in the December through February window.
Use Migrate Mate to surface verified Genesis openings
Not every job posting flags visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to find active Genesis roles where international candidates are genuinely considered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Genesis sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Genesis sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent track record of supporting H-1B petitions, particularly for technology and software roles that qualify as specialty occupations. If you're targeting Genesis, focus on technical positions where your degree aligns directly with the job requirements, as that alignment strengthens the H-1B petition significantly.
What visa types does Genesis sponsor?
Genesis sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. This means international candidates can pursue both temporary work authorization and a long-term path to permanent residency with the same employer, which is a meaningful advantage compared to companies that only support H-1B sponsorship.
Which departments or roles at Genesis are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Genesis's sponsorship activity sits firmly within technology and software, so roles in software engineering, product development, systems architecture, and data-focused disciplines are the most commonly supported. Positions requiring a specific technical degree and specialized expertise are the strongest fit for H-1B specialty occupation requirements. General business or administrative roles are far less likely to be sponsored.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Genesis?
The most reliable approach is to search on Migrate Mate, which aggregates roles from companies with verified sponsorship histories like Genesis. This filters out listings where sponsorship is uncertain or unavailable, saving you time and helping you focus applications on employers who have actually sponsored visas in the relevant categories before.
How do I approach the application process at Genesis as an international candidate?
Be upfront about your visa status early in the process so Genesis's hiring team can assess sponsorship feasibility before investing heavily in interviews. Come prepared to discuss your work authorization timeline, especially if H-1B cap season is relevant to your situation. Demonstrating specialized technical expertise is the strongest signal that sponsorship is a worthwhile investment for the company.
