Frame your scientific background as commercial credibility
GenScript's Business Development hires are expected to speak fluently with scientists and procurement teams alike. Tailor your resume to show how your biology, chemistry, or biotech training directly supported revenue outcomes, partnerships, or client expansion in previous roles.
Target GenScript's CDMO and biologics verticals first
GenScript's fastest-growing business lines, including antibody development services and cell and gene therapy CDMO work, drive the most Business Development hiring. Aligning your outreach and application materials to these verticals improves your relevance to active requisitions.
Confirm H-1B eligibility before your offer stage
Business Development roles at GenScript have historically supported H-1B petitions. Before accepting an offer, verify your degree field qualifies the role as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria. A bachelor's in life sciences, biochemistry, or a related field is the strongest foundation.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
GenScript posts Business Development positions across multiple channels, but not all listings signal visa eligibility clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter GenScript's open roles by the specific visa types they sponsor, so you apply only where sponsorship is confirmed for this function.
Ask about LCA timing before your start date is set
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. If your start date is tight, ask GenScript's HR team early about their internal LCA filing timeline to avoid gaps between your current status and your new role beginning.
Prepare for Green Card sponsorship conversations at the offer stage
GenScript has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 petitions for employees in technical and commercial roles. If long-term U.S. residence matters to you, raise PERM-based sponsorship during offer negotiation, not after onboarding. Getting clarity on the timeline early helps you plan around priority date backlogs.

Find Business Development at GenScript JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GenScript sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, GenScript sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as life sciences, biochemistry, or a related discipline. GenScript's involvement in biologics and CDMO services means most Business Development positions carry enough technical specialization to meet that bar.
Which visa types does GenScript commonly use for Business Development roles?
GenScript's Business Development sponsorship activity spans both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories. On the nonimmigrant side, H-1B is the most common path for full-time roles. For longer-term employees, GenScript has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. The right category depends on your qualifications, degree field, and how GenScript classifies the specific position.
What qualifications are expected for Business Development roles at GenScript?
GenScript typically looks for candidates with a background in life sciences combined with demonstrated commercial experience. A degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field is a common baseline. Beyond credentials, practical experience selling or partnering within pharma, biotech, or CRO environments carries significant weight. Familiarity with GenScript's core service lines, including gene synthesis, antibody services, or CDMO offerings, strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at GenScript?
You can browse and apply for GenScript's Business Development openings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. GenScript also posts roles directly on its careers page. When applying, align your materials to the specific service line the role supports, since Business Development positions at GenScript vary significantly by therapeutic area and client segment.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at GenScript?
The H-1B cap lottery runs once per year, with registrations opening in March and the earliest possible start date being October 1. If you're not already in H-1B status or cap-exempt, you'll need to secure your offer well before the March registration window. If you're on OPT, your 60-day grace period after employment ends does not pause the H-1B timeline, so coordinating your offer and status carefully with GenScript's HR team is essential.
