APPRAISAL DESK SPECIALIST – JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Appraisal Desk Manager or Director, Operations and Credit

Pay Grade: Regular, Full-Time

Department: Appraisal

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Location: Ann Arbor, MI Hybrid
Schedule: M-F

SUMMARY & PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Appraisal Desk Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring all appraisals are ordered timely and accurately within Gold Star. This individual is also responsible for managing the general appraisal desk inbox and monitoring all appraisal orders in progress.

PRIMARY POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review appraisal orders in a timely manner; and get them assigned;
- Monitor appraisal orders and request revisions as needed;
- Train and educate new branch locations on the internal appraisal process;
- Partner with Appraisal Management vendors to ensure the seamless processing of appraisals;
- Provide support to other team members in the Appraisal Department;
- Train other employees on the internal appraisal submission process;
- Present options and alternatives that lead to new innovative ways of processing requests within the department;
- Partner with other operations departments to ensure timely loan processing, as needed;
- Provide unsurpassed customer service;
- Complete other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Must have exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills;
- Must exercise a high level of confidentiality;
- Must be dependable with meeting deadlines and managing time;
- Have an ability to multi-task;
- Perform exceptionally well under pressure.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, accounting, or another equivalent field of study preferred;
- Prior experience with Appraisals or mortgages in general.
- Prior experience with Encompass preferred.
