Match your credentials to PERM requirements early
PERM labor certification requires Flex-N-Gate to advertise your role and prove no qualified U.S. worker is available. Review the exact minimum requirements in any job posting carefully, your credentials must align precisely, since PERM audits flag discrepancies between your qualifications and the advertised requirements.
Understand which EB category fits your role
EB-3 covers most production and skilled-trade roles at Flex-N-Gate, while EB-2 applies to positions requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Engineers with a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of specialized automotive experience should confirm with HR which category the company intends to file under.
Target roles with dedicated engineering headcount
Flex-N-Gate's stamping, tooling, and manufacturing engineering teams have historically supported Green Card filings for technical staff. Prioritize applying to plant-level engineering roles rather than corporate generalist positions, where sponsorship approval depends more on individual manager discretion than established HR processes.
Benchmark your salary against OFLC Wage Search data
PERM requires Flex-N-Gate to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Before negotiating an offer, check the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary meets or exceeds the Level I or Level II wage for your specific SOC code and Michigan county.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Flex-N-Gate's filing history
Before accepting an offer, confirm Flex-N-Gate has active Green Card filing history for your role type. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application and PERM data by employer, so you can see which job titles and locations the company has sponsored and whether your position fits that pattern.
Clarify the sponsorship timeline before signing an offer
Green Card processing through PERM and I-140 typically spans one to three years before priority date becomes relevant, and EB-3 backlogs affect some nationalities significantly. Ask HR explicitly whether sponsorship begins at hire or after a qualifying period, and request the company's standard Green Card policy in writing.
Flex-N-Gate Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Flex-N-Gate sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Flex-N-Gate sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily in engineering and technical manufacturing roles. The company files under EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific roles rather than offered company-wide, so confirming Green Card eligibility for your target position during the interview process is essential.
Which roles at Flex-N-Gate are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Flex-N-Gate is most common in stamping engineering, tooling, manufacturing engineering, and quality roles at the plant level. Corporate and administrative positions are less consistently sponsored. Roles requiring specialized automotive manufacturing knowledge, particularly those tied to die design, press operations, or production systems, tend to have the strongest sponsorship precedent.
How do I find out if my specific role at Flex-N-Gate qualifies for Green Card sponsorship?
Ask the recruiter or HR contact directly during the offer stage whether the role has an established Green Card sponsorship track. You can also use Migrate Mate to review Flex-N-Gate's PERM and Green Card filing history by job title and location, which gives you a concrete baseline before you negotiate or accept an offer.
How long does the Green Card process take at Flex-N-Gate?
The PERM labor certification stage alone typically takes six to twelve months, followed by I-140 petition processing with USCIS. For EB-3 filers from countries with visa backlogs, the total wait before receiving a Green Card can extend significantly beyond the initial filing timeline. Your nationality and the EB category Flex-N-Gate files under both affect the overall duration.
How do I start the Green Card process at Flex-N-Gate after receiving a job offer?
Once you have a written offer, request that HR confirm the company's Green Card sponsorship policy and initiate the PERM process with their immigration counsel. Ensure your job duties, title, and minimum requirements match what will be advertised in the PERM recruitment. USCIS and DOL both review these filings closely, so alignment between your role and the PERM documentation is critical from day one.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Flex-N-Gate?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
