Target technical and engineering roles
Holtec's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in highly specialized roles, particularly nuclear engineering, mechanical design, and technical consulting. Applying to positions that align with the company's core energy and manufacturing expertise improves your chances of qualifying for employer-sponsored Green Card support.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
Holtec typically sponsors through EB-2 and EB-3 categories depending on role complexity and your qualifications. Understanding which category applies to your position helps you set realistic timeline expectations and ask informed questions during the hiring process.
Raise sponsorship early in interviews
In consulting and professional services, immigration sponsorship discussions are common. Bring up Green Card sponsorship directly during early conversations with Holtec's recruiting team to confirm the role qualifies and to understand the company's internal process before accepting an offer.
Use verified job data to find open roles
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify active Holtec openings where Green Card sponsorship is genuinely on the table rather than just theoretically possible based on company reputation.
Be patient with the PERM labor certification stage
The PERM labor certification process, which Holtec must complete before filing your Green Card petition, involves strict Department of Labor timelines that are largely outside the employer's control. Building a strong employment record at Holtec during this period strengthens your overall case.
Holtec International Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Holtec International sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Holtec International sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily in engineering, nuclear technology, and technical consulting roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specialized positions where the company has demonstrated a sustained need for highly skilled talent. Candidates already working at Holtec on a nonimmigrant visa are the most common pathway to Green Card sponsorship.
Which roles and departments at Holtec International are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Holtec International is most common in nuclear engineering, mechanical and structural design, project management, and technical consulting. Roles requiring advanced degrees or specialized credentials in energy and manufacturing align most closely with the EB-2 and EB-3 categories Holtec uses for employment-based Green Card filings.
How does the Green Card application process work at Holtec International?
Holtec typically initiates the process with PERM labor certification, where the company advertises the position and demonstrates no qualified U.S. workers are available. After PERM approval, they file an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Once that is approved and a visa number is available, you can file for adjustment of status or consular processing to receive your Green Card.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through Holtec International?
The timeline depends heavily on your country of birth and the visa category. PERM labor certification alone can take one to two years. For applicants born in countries without significant backlogs, the full process from PERM to Green Card approval can take two to four years. Applicants from India or China may face substantially longer waits due to per-country annual limits.
How do I find open Green Card sponsorship jobs at Holtec International?
Searching directly on Holtec's careers page is a good starting point, but it won't always indicate which roles include Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Holtec International roles where Green Card sponsorship has been verified through government filings, giving you a clearer picture of which positions are genuinely worth pursuing if long-term U.S. residency is your goal.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Holtec International?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
