Match your degree to EB-2 requirements
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers roles needing a bachelor's or two years of experience. For Martin Marietta's engineering and materials science roles, confirm your credentials align with the specific pathway before applying so HR can route your case correctly from day one.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiation
PERM labor certification requires Martin Marietta to offer at least the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and work location. Look up your role's wage level using the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating so you understand the floor the employer is legally required to meet during the Green Card process.
Target roles with established sponsorship history
Martin Marietta's operations in aggregates and cement production consistently hire chemical engineers, process engineers, and plant managers. Roles tied to production facilities and technical services are most likely to have internal precedent for Green Card filings, which reduces friction when you raise sponsorship during the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Green Card roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Martin Marietta job listings by Green Card sponsorship history using DOL Labor Condition Application data. This lets you identify which specific roles and locations have active filing records before you apply, so you're targeting positions where sponsorship is already established practice.
Prepare for the PERM recruitment documentation phase
Before USCIS can adjudicate your Green Card petition, Martin Marietta must complete DOL's PERM process, which involves running a formal recruitment campaign to show no qualified U.S. workers were available. Expect this phase alone to run several months, and avoid changing roles internally during this window to keep the filing intact.
Use O*NET to frame your specialty occupation case
If your role sits in a materials or chemical engineering discipline, pull the O*NET occupation profile for your job title to confirm the standard education requirement. Aligning your resume and offer letter language to the O*NET description strengthens the employer's PERM filing and reduces the chance of a USCIS audit or denial.
Martin Marietta Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Martin Marietta sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Martin Marietta sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying roles, primarily through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. Sponsorship tends to be concentrated in technical, engineering, and operations positions across its aggregates, cement, and specialty materials business units. Sponsorship is typically initiated after a full-time offer and is employer-driven, not guaranteed at the application stage.
Which departments at Martin Marietta are most likely to sponsor a Green Card?
Engineering, materials science, process chemistry, and plant operations roles are the most common Green Card sponsorship pathways at Martin Marietta. Corporate functions like environmental compliance and safety engineering also see sponsorship activity. Front-line production or administrative roles are less frequently sponsored, so targeting technical or specialized positions gives you the strongest starting position.
How do I start the Green Card process once I have a job offer from Martin Marietta?
After accepting an offer, work with Martin Marietta's HR or immigration counsel to determine your EB-2 or EB-3 pathway. The employer initiates PERM labor certification with DOL, which involves a formal recruitment process before the petition can be filed with USCIS. You'll need to provide educational credentials and work history documentation early in the process.
How long does the Green Card process typically take at Martin Marietta?
The full process from PERM labor certification through USCIS adjudication and visa availability commonly takes two to four years for EB-3, and can be shorter for EB-2 depending on your country of birth and current visa bulletin priority dates. PERM alone takes several months, so starting discussions with your employer early after your offer is essential.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Martin Marietta?
Migrate Mate surfaces Martin Marietta job listings filtered by verified Green Card sponsorship history using DOL labor condition data, so you can see which roles and locations have an active filing record before you apply. Cross-referencing this with Martin Marietta's direct careers page helps you identify the strongest sponsorship opportunities across their U.S. operations.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Martin Marietta?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
