Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Owens Corning's Green Card filings concentrate in engineering and materials science. Pull your role's SOC code and run it through O*NET to confirm the degree requirements match your background before applying. A weak credential-to-role match stalls PERM certification before it starts.
Target roles with active PERM filing history
Not every Owens Corning position leads to Green Card sponsorship. Engineering, R&D, and process improvement roles in manufacturing plants have historically moved through PERM. Corporate functions in IT and finance at their Toledo headquarters also see filings, so target those teams specifically.
Understand which EB pathway fits your profile
EB-3 covers most professional and skilled worker filings and goes through PERM labor certification. EB-2 requires a job that demands an advanced degree, which applies to senior engineering and research positions. Clarify with Owens Corning's immigration counsel early so PERM advertising reflects the correct category.
Negotiate sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
Ask directly whether the role is budgeted for PERM and permanent residence sponsorship, not just a work visa. Get written confirmation in your offer letter. Owens Corning uses outside immigration counsel, so confirm the firm's timeline expectations align with your priority date strategy.
Document your prevailing wage position from day one
PERM requires your salary to meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check wage levels for your SOC code at Owens Corning's plant or office location. A below-level salary creates a PERM denial risk that's difficult to fix mid-process.
Use Migrate Mate to find current Green Card openings
Search Migrate Mate to filter Owens Corning job listings by Green Card sponsorship. The platform surfaces roles where the company has a verified filing history, so you're applying to positions that have actually moved through the sponsorship pipeline rather than guessing from a generic careers page.

Which roles at Owens Corning typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Owens Corning is most common in process engineering, materials science, R&D, and manufacturing operations. Corporate functions including IT and finance at the company's Toledo, Ohio headquarters also generate filings. Production-level roles may qualify under EB-3 skilled worker, while senior engineering and research positions more often file under EB-2.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Owens Corning?
Owens Corning works with outside immigration counsel to manage Green Card filings. Once a position is approved for sponsorship, the process typically starts with a prevailing wage determination from DOL, followed by PERM labor certification, then an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. Your involvement includes providing credentials, employment history, and supporting documentation at each stage.
How long does the Green Card process take at Owens Corning?
The timeline depends on your nationality and the EB category. PERM labor certification alone takes several months once DOL advertising requirements are met. After USCIS approves the I-140 petition, wait times for a visa number vary widely based on your country of birth and priority date. USCIS publishes monthly Visa Bulletin updates tracking current cutoff dates by category and country.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Owens Corning?
Migrate Mate filters Owens Corning job listings by sponsorship type, including Green Card, so you can identify roles where the company has a verified filing history. Applying directly through Owens Corning's careers page is also an option, but confirming Green Card sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter early in the process saves significant time.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Owens Corning?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
