Match your credentials to EB-2 or EB-3
Pilgrim's files under both EB-2 and EB-3, so your education and experience level determines which pathway applies. EB-3 covers skilled workers with a bachelor's degree or two years of training. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability in your field.
Understand what PERM requires from you
Before Pilgrim's can file your Green Card petition, DOL must certify through PERM that no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. You'll need to document your qualifications precisely so your credentials match the approved job description without gaps.
Target roles in operations and technical functions
Pilgrim's Green Card sponsorship clusters around production, quality assurance, engineering, and supply chain roles tied to its food processing and retail operations. Corporate functions like HR and finance also see sponsorship activity. Prioritize applications in these areas for the strongest chance.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Pilgrim's filing history
Before applying, check Pilgrim's actual Green Card filing history by role and location using Migrate Mate. Seeing which job titles and facilities have active PERM filings tells you where sponsorship is realistic, so you're not guessing during the offer negotiation stage.
Negotiate sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
Pilgrim's Green Card filings are employer-initiated, meaning the company decides when and whether to file. Ask directly during the offer stage whether the role includes a Green Card sponsorship commitment and confirm the expected timeline before signing your employment agreement.
Align your prevailing wage research with your target location
PERM requires Pilgrim's to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your occupation before interviews, so you can identify whether offers reflect the minimum required for your Green Card filing.
Pilgrim's Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pilgrim's sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Pilgrim's sponsors Green Card visas through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. Sponsorship is employer-initiated and tied to specific roles, so not every position includes a Green Card commitment. Candidates in operations, technical, and corporate functions have the strongest track record of receiving sponsorship at Pilgrim's.
Which roles at Pilgrim's are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Roles in production management, quality assurance, food safety, engineering, and supply chain have historically been sponsored at Pilgrim's. Corporate functions including human resources and finance also see sponsorship activity. Frontline or hourly positions are less commonly sponsored, though EB-3 unskilled worker filings can apply in some operational contexts.
How does the Green Card application process work at Pilgrim's?
Pilgrim's initiates the process by filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, which confirms no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. Once certified, Pilgrim's files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. If your priority date is current, you can then apply to adjust status or go through consular processing to receive your Green Card.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through Pilgrim's?
The timeline depends on your visa category and country of birth. PERM certification alone can take six to twelve months or longer. EB-3 applicants from high-demand countries like India or China may face multi-year backlogs due to annual visa limits. EB-2 can be faster for workers born in countries without significant backlog.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Pilgrim's that include sponsorship?
Job postings rarely specify Green Card sponsorship explicitly, so direct outreach and research matter. Migrate Mate aggregates verified employer filing data so you can see which Pilgrim's roles and locations have active Green Card history. That lets you apply strategically and ask informed questions during the interview process rather than discovering sponsorship limitations after an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Pilgrim's?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
