Job Roles at Sunrun
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Sunrun Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and engineering roles
Sunrun's Green Card sponsorships concentrate in software engineering, electrical engineering, and operations roles that support its solar installation and energy storage platforms. Candidates in these disciplines have the strongest case for employer-sponsored permanent residency.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
Sunrun files Green Cards under both EB-2 and EB-3 categories. EB-2 typically applies to roles requiring advanced degrees, while EB-3 covers professionals and skilled workers. Knowing which category fits your background helps you ask the right questions during interviews.
Raise sponsorship early in the process
Sunrun operates in the construction and real estate sector where project timelines are long. Bringing up Green Card sponsorship before an offer stage signals you're planning for the long term and reduces surprises once negotiations start.
Demonstrate alignment with Sunrun's clean energy mission
Employers in the renewable energy space prefer candidates who articulate why they want to stay and grow with the company. Green Card sponsorship is a multi-year commitment, and showing genuine interest in solar adoption and sustainability strengthens your case.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every open role at Sunrun will qualify for Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time and focusing your applications on positions where sponsorship has actually been approved.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sunrun sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Sunrun sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company files petitions under the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories, primarily for technical, engineering, and operations professionals. Sponsorship is tied to specific roles and business needs, so not every position at Sunrun will come with a Green Card commitment.
Which roles and departments at Sunrun are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Sunrun is most common in software engineering, electrical engineering, energy systems, and operations functions that support its solar installation and storage business. Corporate roles in finance and supply chain may also qualify depending on seniority and business need. Field installation roles are less commonly sponsored for permanent residency.
How do I start the Green Card process at Sunrun?
The process typically starts once you're already employed at Sunrun on a nonimmigrant visa such as H-1B. Your employer initiates the PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor, which establishes that no qualified U.S. worker is available for your position. After PERM approval, Sunrun files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf before you can apply to adjust status or pursue consular processing.
How long does the Green Card process take at Sunrun?
Total timelines vary significantly based on your country of birth and the employment-based category used. PERM labor certification alone can take one to two years. For applicants born in India or China, priority date backlogs can extend the overall wait considerably beyond that. Starting the process as early as possible in your employment at Sunrun is generally advisable.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Sunrun that offer sponsorship?
Sunrun posts open roles on its careers page, but listings don't always specify whether Green Card sponsorship is available for a given position. Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified sponsorship history, so you can identify Sunrun roles where the company has a track record of filing Green Card petitions rather than relying on what a job description does or does not mention.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Sunrun?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
