We offer up to 14 weeks of paid training and coaching as you obtain your state insurance licenses (life, health & variable contracts), Series 7 and 66 registrations, and complete Thrivent’s comprehensive advisor onboarding program. After onboarding, you’ll have control over the income you earn, as you’ll be paid through commissions and incentives based on your success.
Job Description
As a Thrivent Financial advisor, you’ll:
- Build a financial practice guiding Christians on their journeys to financial clarity, empowering lives of service and faith.
- Provide personal, actionable and achievable advice and connect clients to Thrivent products and programs.

- Attainment of FINRA SIE, life and health licenses (licensed role only) before contracting.
- Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.
Compensation and Benefits
You’ll get all the benefits of a Fortune 500 organization and more. Here, you’ll enjoy:
- Unlimited earning potential through biweekly base commissions, bonus opportunities and incentive pay structures, recurring revenue streams, and dedicated planning fees for those who qualify.
- Medical, dental, vision, disability and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
- Pension, 401(k) and retiree medical plans.
- Ongoing support, training and opportunity for professional growth as you build your business.
- Well-being programs to help you manage your physical, emotional and financial health.

Target roles where sponsorship is most common
Thrivent most consistently sponsors Green Cards for specialized finance, actuarial, and technology positions. Focus your applications on roles requiring advanced degrees or technical credentials, where the company has the strongest incentive to support long-term immigration.
Understand the EB-2 vs. EB-3 distinction
Thrivent sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. EB-2 typically applies to roles requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Knowing which category fits your background helps you target the right positions and set realistic timeline expectations before applying.
Confirm sponsorship intent early in the process
Green Card sponsorship is a significant employer commitment. Raise the topic after receiving an offer, not during initial interviews. Ask specifically whether the role has been approved for Green Card sponsorship and whether PERM labor certification is part of their standard process.
Use verified sponsorship data to find open roles
Sponsor status isn't always obvious from job postings. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Thrivent openings where Green Card support is confirmed rather than assumed.
Leverage your existing visa status strategically
Thrivent sponsors F-1 OPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas alongside Green Cards. Starting in one of these categories gives you time to demonstrate value before your employer initiates the PERM process, which typically begins after a period of consistent employment.
Align your qualifications with Investment and Asset Management needs
Thrivent operates in a highly regulated industry where specialized expertise is hard to replace. Candidates with credentials in financial analysis, risk management, or actuarial science are well positioned for Green Card consideration, as these skills justify the labor certification process.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Thrivent Financial for Lutherans sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company supports both EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, primarily for roles in finance, technology, and operations where specialized skills are required. Sponsorship is offered selectively and typically follows a period of employment with the company.
Which roles at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Sponsorship is most common in roles requiring advanced technical or financial expertise, including actuarial analysts, financial engineers, software developers, and investment professionals. Positions in compliance, risk management, and data analytics within Thrivent's Investment and Asset Management operations are also strong candidates for Green Card support.
How does the Green Card application process work at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Thrivent typically initiates the process through PERM labor certification, where the Department of Labor verifies that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is approved, Thrivent files an immigrant petition on your behalf. Throughout the process, Thrivent works with immigration counsel to manage filings and compliance requirements.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Total timelines depend on your visa category and country of birth. EB-2 and EB-3 applicants born in India or China may face extended wait times due to visa backlogs. For applicants without backlog issues, the full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can take two to four years, sometimes longer.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Start by identifying roles that align with Thrivent's core business areas in Investment and Asset Management, then verify that those positions have a sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings by verified Green Card sponsorship, so you can focus on Thrivent openings where sponsorship support is confirmed and avoid wasting time on roles where it is not.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
