Match your credentials to PERM requirements early
PERM labor certification requires your degree and licensure to meet the job's minimum qualifications exactly as advertised. For veterinary roles at Vetcor, confirm your foreign veterinary degree is evaluated by a recognized credential assessment service before you start the application process.
Identify which EB pathway fits your background
Licensed veterinarians typically qualify under EB-2, which requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Veterinary technicians and support staff usually file under EB-3. Knowing your category before your first conversation with Vetcor's HR team helps frame the sponsorship ask realistically.
Target Vetcor hospitals with documented sponsorship history
Vetcor operates hundreds of independently branded animal hospitals, and sponsorship decisions are often made at the regional or hospital level. Use Migrate Mate to identify specific Vetcor-affiliated locations with active Green Card filing history so you target hospitals already familiar with the process.
Prepare for the PERM recruitment documentation phase
Before USCIS receives a petition, DOL requires Vetcor to run a formal recruitment process showing no qualified U.S. workers were available. Ask your hiring contact which job boards they use for PERM recruitment and how long their typical recruitment window runs at your target location.
Secure state veterinary licensure before your offer letter
Most veterinary roles at Vetcor require an active state license, and PERM job descriptions typically list it as a minimum requirement. Applying for licensure in your target state before you receive an offer removes a common bottleneck that can delay filing by months.
Understand that Green Card timelines vary by your birth country
USCIS priority date backlogs differ significantly depending on your country of birth, not citizenship. EB-3 applicants from high-demand countries can face multi-year waits even after PERM certification and I-140 approval, so factor this into your employment planning with Vetcor.
Vetcor Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Vetcor sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Vetcor sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying veterinary professionals. Sponsorship is most common for licensed veterinarians and, in some locations, credentialed veterinary technicians. Because Vetcor operates as a network of animal hospitals, sponsorship decisions and timelines can vary by location, so confirm the specific hospital's willingness to sponsor during the offer stage.
Which roles at Vetcor typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Licensed veterinarians are the primary candidates for Green Card sponsorship at Vetcor, typically filing under EB-2 or EB-3 depending on degree level and experience. Veterinary technicians with recognized credentials may qualify under EB-3. Administrative and non-clinical roles are rarely sponsored, as Green Card filings at Vetcor are concentrated in direct patient-care positions.
How does the Green Card application process work at Vetcor?
The process generally follows three stages. First, Vetcor files a PERM labor certification with DOL, which includes a formal recruitment phase. Second, Vetcor files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Third, once your priority date becomes current, you file for adjustment of status or go through consular processing. Vetcor typically works with an immigration attorney to manage employer-side filings.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Vetcor?
PERM certification alone can take six months to over a year, and the I-140 adjudication period adds additional time. After approval, how long you wait for a visa number depends on your birth country and the EB category. EB-2 and EB-3 applicants from countries without backlogs may complete the full process in two to three years; others wait considerably longer.
How do I find Vetcor locations actively sponsoring Green Cards?
Vetcor's hospitals operate under many different brand names, which makes it hard to identify sponsoring locations through standard job boards alone. Migrate Mate aggregates DOL labor certification data by employer, so you can see which Vetcor-affiliated hospitals have filed Green Card cases and target your outreach accordingly rather than applying broadly across their entire network.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Vetcor?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
