Job Roles at Humana
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Humana H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technology and data roles first
Humana's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in roles like software engineering, data science, and clinical informatics. Prioritize these functions when applying, as they represent the clearest path to sponsorship within the organization.
Understand Humana's holding company structure
As a holding company with multiple subsidiaries, Humana may hire across different business units. Clarify early which entity would be your employer, since each subsidiary files H-1B petitions separately and sponsorship policies can vary.
Confirm sponsorship before investing time in the process
Not every open role at Humana includes H-1B sponsorship, even in tech departments. Ask the recruiter directly during the first screening call. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history before applying.
Apply well ahead of the H-1B cap registration window
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, Humana must register you before the March deadline. Begin conversations with recruiters by January to leave enough time for internal approvals and legal review before registration opens.
Highlight domain expertise in healthcare IT or managed care
Humana prioritizes candidates who understand the healthcare ecosystem. Demonstrating familiarity with health insurance workflows, value-based care models, or payer-side operations strengthens your case for sponsorship in competitive technical roles.
Engage Humana's talent acquisition team through structured channels
Humana's recruiting process for sponsored roles tends to move through formal channels. Apply directly on Humana's careers portal and follow up professionally. Roles flagged as sponsorship-eligible are more likely to appear on platforms like Migrate Mate that track verified filings.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is most consistent in technical and analytical roles, particularly in software engineering, data science, and healthcare informatics. Not every open position qualifies, so confirming sponsorship eligibility with the recruiter before advancing in the interview process is worth doing.
Which roles and departments at Humana are most likely to offer H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Humana is most common in technology, data analytics, clinical informatics, and enterprise IT departments. Roles requiring specialized technical degrees, such as software developers, data engineers, and systems architects, are the strongest candidates. Business and administrative roles are sponsored less frequently and are less predictable.
How does the H-1B application process work at Humana?
Once you receive and accept a job offer, Humana's legal or HR team initiates the H-1B petition process through an immigration attorney. This includes preparing the Labor Condition Application, gathering your qualifications and degree credentials, and filing Form I-129 with USCIS. The employer handles all government filings on your behalf.
How long does it take to get H-1B sponsorship through Humana?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, you'd need to be registered in the March lottery, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. Standard USCIS processing after approval takes several months. Premium processing is available and can reduce USCIS adjudication to roughly two to three weeks, though Humana's internal policy on who covers that cost varies.
How do I find H-1B sponsored jobs at Humana?
Search Humana's official careers portal and filter by role type, then confirm sponsorship directly with the recruiter. Migrate Mate tracks verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter opportunities by companies with a documented sponsorship history, which makes it easier to identify roles at Humana where H-1B support is realistic rather than speculative.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Humana?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
