Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Lehigh Valley Health Network's H-1B filings concentrate in clinical roles requiring licensure and a directly related degree. Before applying, confirm your international medical or nursing credentials are evaluated by a USCIS-recognized credential assessment body to avoid RFE delays during adjudication.
Target departments with recurring sponsorship history
Specialty care units, hospitalist medicine, and allied health departments at Lehigh Valley Health Network are where H-1B sponsorship tends to recur. Prioritize these over administrative or support roles, which rarely generate petitions and are harder to frame as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria.
Verify prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your offer letter salary must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and the Allentown, Pennsylvania wage area. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up your SOC code before you negotiate, so you understand the floor your employer is legally required to meet.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment during the offer stage
Lehigh Valley Health Network, as a large regional health system, participates in E-Verify, which is required for H-1B employers. Confirm this during your offer conversation and ask HR whether the petitioning entity is the hospital itself or a subsidiary, since your I-129 must name the correct legal employer.
Search verified H-1B job listings using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles at Lehigh Valley Health Network filtered by H-1B sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer, so you can see which departments and job titles have active filings before you apply.
Request a clear H-1B filing timeline from HR
USCIS's H-1B cap lottery runs once annually with a registration window in March. If you're cap-subject, ask Lehigh Valley Health Network's HR team whether they file in the first available cycle and whether they cover premium processing to reduce the wait to 15 business days.
Lehigh Valley Health Network H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lehigh Valley Health Network sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Lehigh Valley Health Network sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying clinical and allied health positions. Sponsorship is typically offered for roles that meet USCIS's specialty occupation definition, meaning the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Healthcare professionals in medicine, nursing, and specialty care are the most common candidates.
Which roles and departments at Lehigh Valley Health Network are most likely to offer H-1B sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Lehigh Valley Health Network is concentrated in clinical departments, including hospitalist medicine, specialty care, and allied health. Roles such as physicians, registered nurses, physical therapists, and medical imaging specialists are among those most frequently sponsored. Administrative and non-clinical support roles rarely qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS guidelines.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Lehigh Valley Health Network?
Once you receive a job offer, Lehigh Valley Health Network's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submits Form I-129 to USCIS on your behalf. You should confirm whether the offer is contingent on lottery selection if you're cap-subject, and request clarity on whether premium processing is included. Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles with active LCA filing history before you apply.
How long does the H-1B process take at Lehigh Valley Health Network?
For cap-subject applicants, the process begins with the USCIS lottery in March, with employment typically starting October 1 of the same year. Standard USCIS adjudication after lottery selection takes several months; premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. Cap-exempt applicants, such as those already on H-1B, can file year-round with faster effective dates.
What can I do to strengthen my H-1B application at Lehigh Valley Health Network?
Ensure your academic credentials are formally evaluated and that your degree field directly matches your target role, since USCIS scrutinizes the degree-to-job nexus in healthcare filings. Obtain any required state licensure before your petition is filed where possible, as Lehigh Valley Health Network operates in Pennsylvania, which has its own licensing requirements for clinical professionals.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Lehigh Valley Health Network?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
