Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Ryan Companies hires for technically demanding roles in structural engineering, MEP coordination, and project controls. Pull the O*NET profile for your target occupation to confirm the degree requirement language, then frame your resume around the specific field your degree covers, not just your job duties.
Target preconstruction and engineering job postings
Ryan Companies' H-1B sponsorship tends to cluster in roles requiring specialized technical knowledge, such as project engineers, estimators, and VDC coordinators. Filter your job search to these departments, since general construction management roles vary more in whether sponsorship gets approved.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before negotiating salary
Before your offer conversation, run your job title and work location through the OFLC Wage Search. Ryan Companies must certify your wage meets the prevailing wage on the Labor Condition Application, so knowing your wage level upfront prevents surprises when the LCA gets filed with DOL.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment during the screening stage
Ryan Companies operates across multiple states on federal and state-funded construction projects, making E-Verify participation likely for many of its worksites. Confirming enrollment early tells you the employer has the compliance infrastructure that typically supports H-1B sponsorship through USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to track Ryan Companies' LCA filing history
Before applying, search Ryan Companies on Migrate Mate to review its Labor Condition Application filings by job title and location. This tells you which specific roles and office locations have an active H-1B sponsorship pattern, so you can prioritize the openings most likely to result in a petition.
Clarify the filing timeline relative to your current authorization
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed for an October 1 start date, with lottery registration in March. If you're on OPT, confirm whether your authorization end date aligns with this window and whether Ryan Companies will file premium processing to secure USCIS approval before your OPT expires.
Ryan Companies US, Inc. H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ryan Companies U.S., Inc. sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Ryan Companies U.S., Inc. sponsors H-1B visas for roles that meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, typically requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Sponsorship is most common in technical disciplines tied to construction management, engineering, and real estate development, where the degree-to-role connection is well established.
Which roles at Ryan Companies are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Ryan Companies tends to concentrate in technically specialized positions such as project engineers, structural or MEP engineers, VDC or BIM coordinators, and preconstruction estimators. These roles have a clear specialty occupation basis because they require a specific engineering or construction management degree, which is a core USCIS requirement for H-1B approval.
How do I find out if a specific Ryan Companies role qualifies for H-1B sponsorship?
Check the job posting for degree requirements that specify a particular field of study, not just any bachelor's degree. You can also search Migrate Mate to review Ryan Companies' Labor Condition Application history by job title and location, which shows which roles the company has actively sponsored in the past and at which office or project site.
How do I navigate the H-1B filing timeline at Ryan Companies?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions require USCIS lottery registration in March for an October 1 start date. Once selected, Ryan Companies' legal team files the full petition. If you're on OPT or CPT, confirm whether your work authorization covers the gap between your current end date and October 1, and ask whether the company files premium processing to accelerate the USCIS decision.
What should I discuss with Ryan Companies' HR team about H-1B sponsorship?
Ask directly whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship, which immigration law firm the company works with, and whether premium processing is available. Also confirm the prevailing wage level for the position and location using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer negotiation, since the Labor Condition Application requires Ryan Companies to certify your salary meets that threshold.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Ryan Companies US, Inc.?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
