Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding ThedaCare H-1B Jobs
Target clinical and allied health roles
ThedaCare's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in healthcare-specific positions. Focus your search on physician, nursing, therapy, and diagnostic roles where specialty occupation requirements align most clearly with H-1B eligibility criteria.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before applying
Not every open role at ThedaCare includes H-1B sponsorship. Review job postings carefully for sponsorship language, and use Migrate Mate to filter by verified sponsorship history so you spend time on roles that genuinely consider international candidates.
Understand ThedaCare's cap-subject timeline
ThedaCare is not a cap-exempt employer, so H-1B petitions are subject to the annual April lottery. Plan your job search with enough lead time to secure an offer well before the March registration window opens.
Highlight licensure and credentialing early
Healthcare employers like ThedaCare evaluate state licensure and clinical credentialing alongside immigration eligibility. Confirm your credentials are transferable to Wisconsin before your interview to remove a common barrier for international clinical hires.
Engage HR about their immigration process directly
ThedaCare manages H-1B filings through external immigration counsel. Asking HR which law firm they use and what documentation they need upfront signals preparedness and can meaningfully accelerate the petition preparation timeline.
Build your case around specialty occupation clarity
USCIS scrutinizes healthcare H-1B petitions closely. When applying, ensure your resume and cover letter clearly connect your specific degree field to the clinical role, reinforcing the specialty occupation argument your employer will need to make.
ThedaCare H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ThedaCare sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ThedaCare sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in clinical and healthcare settings. Sponsorship is selective and depends on the specific position, department need, and the candidate's ability to meet specialty occupation requirements. Not every open role includes sponsorship, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is important.
Which roles and departments at ThedaCare are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
ThedaCare's H-1B sponsorship is most common in clinical departments, including physician and hospitalist roles, nursing specialties, physical and occupational therapy, medical imaging, and laboratory services. These positions align most cleanly with H-1B specialty occupation standards because they require a specific degree in a defined field rather than a general bachelor's.
How does the H-1B application process work at ThedaCare?
After receiving a job offer, ThedaCare works with outside immigration counsel to prepare and file your H-1B petition. This involves completing a Labor Condition Application through the Department of Labor, followed by filing Form I-129 with USCIS. Because ThedaCare is cap-subject, most new hires must go through the annual lottery before a petition can be filed.
How long does it take to start working at ThedaCare on an H-1B?
Timeline depends on where you are in the process. If you need to go through the H-1B lottery, expect a minimum of six to eight months from registration to an approved start date. Candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer can transfer their visa and potentially start much sooner, sometimes within weeks of an offer.
How do I find H-1B jobs at ThedaCare that actually include sponsorship?
Job postings don't always make sponsorship eligibility obvious. Migrate Mate lists verified H-1B sponsors and lets you search by company and role type, so you can focus on ThedaCare openings where sponsorship is a realistic option. Once you identify a role, confirming sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter before investing time in the application is always worthwhile.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at ThedaCare?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
