Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Software Engineer Jobs at HR Green Jobs
Align your portfolio to civil consulting workflows
HR Green's software work supports infrastructure and municipal clients, not consumer products. Highlight projects involving GIS tools, asset management systems, or data pipelines that mirror what consulting engineers actually build and maintain on the job.
Confirm OPT STEM extension eligibility early
Software Engineer roles at HR Green typically fall under STEM-eligible SOC codes, which means your F-1 OPT can extend to 24 additional months. Verify your degree field qualifies with your DSO before accepting an offer to avoid timeline gaps.
Target postings that list LCA-covered work locations
HR Green operates across multiple states. When you apply, check whether the role is tied to a specific office or involves site work, since DOL Labor Condition Application filings must cover the actual worksite location, which can affect your petition's scope.
Prepare a degree equivalency letter before interviewing
For H-1B petitions, USCIS requires that your degree directly relate to the Software Engineer specialty occupation. If your credential is from outside the U.S., have a credential evaluation completed before your first interview so HR Green's legal team isn't blocked at filing.
Ask HR Green directly about H-1B cap-exempt status
Some consulting firms hold affiliations with universities or nonprofits that make H-1B filings cap-exempt, bypassing the annual lottery. Confirm whether HR Green has any such partnerships before counting on the regular April registration window for your timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles at HR Green
Not every Software Engineer posting at HR Green explicitly flags visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles confirmed to support your visa type, so you're applying only to positions where sponsorship is already on the table.

Find Software Engineer at HR Green JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HR Green sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, HR Green sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. Because HR Green is a consulting and professional services firm, petitions are typically filed as cap-subject, meaning they go through the annual USCIS lottery registration in March. If you're targeting an H-1B with HR Green, you'll want an offer in place well before the registration window opens.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at HR Green?
You can apply directly through HR Green's careers page or browse their open Software Engineer roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for positions that support your specific visa type. Before applying, review whether the role is tied to a specific office location, since HR Green operates across multiple regions and the worksite affects how your sponsorship petition is structured.
Which visa types does HR Green support for Software Engineer positions?
HR Green supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Software Engineer roles. If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, the TN visa can be a faster path since it bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. F-1 students can often begin on CPT or OPT while a longer-term H-1B petition is being prepared by HR Green's legal team.
What qualifications does HR Green expect for sponsored Software Engineer roles?
HR Green's Software Engineer roles in the consulting space typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field. USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree and the role for H-1B specialty occupation purposes, so generalist degrees may need supporting documentation. Experience with infrastructure software, GIS platforms, or enterprise asset management systems is a practical advantage given HR Green's project focus.
How do I time my application if I'm on F-1 OPT and want H-1B sponsorship at HR Green?
If you're on post-completion OPT, you'll need HR Green to register you in the H-1B lottery by late March for an October 1 start date. Starting your job search at least six months before your OPT expires gives you enough runway to go through the lottery, receive approval, and allow USCIS to adjudicate the petition before your current work authorization lapses. STEM OPT extension adds buffer if the first lottery cycle doesn't go through.
