Align your credentials to PE licensure timelines
HR Green's consulting work often requires or tracks toward Professional Engineer licensure. Before applying, check whether your home country engineering degree qualifies for EIT exam eligibility in the state where the role is based, since this directly affects your long-term value to the firm.
Target roles tied to infrastructure funding cycles
HR Green staffs heavily around federally funded municipal and transportation projects. Applying when new project awards are announced, rather than waiting for generic postings, puts you in front of hiring managers who have active headcount needs and budget approval already in place.
Confirm your OPT STEM extension eligibility early
Structural Engineering roles at a consulting firm like HR Green fall under qualifying STEM codes, making you eligible for the 24-month OPT extension. Verify your program CIP code with your DSO before accepting an offer, since the extension requires E-Verify enrollment from your employer.
Ask specifically about H-1B cap-exempt project affiliations
Consulting firms sometimes place engineers on projects with universities or government research entities. If HR Green has such contracts, you may have access to cap-exempt H-1B filing options, which bypasses the annual USCIS lottery entirely and removes the uncertainty of random selection.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Structural Engineer roles at HR Green
Not all HR Green postings surface on general job boards with sponsorship context attached. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for HR Green's Structural Engineer openings by visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed before you apply.
Request an LCA preview before signing your offer letter
The DOL Labor Condition Application locks in your wage level and worksite. Before signing, ask HR Green's HR team to confirm the prevailing wage tier they intend to file at, since Level I filings at consulting firms have drawn USCIS scrutiny for experienced engineers.

Find Structural Engineer at HR Green JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does HR Green sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Engineers?
Yes, HR Green sponsors H-1B visas for Structural Engineer roles. As a consulting firm operating across infrastructure and municipal engineering, they have an established process for sponsoring international engineers. Sponsorship is typically tied to a confirmed job offer, and your employer initiates the H-1B petition through USCIS on your behalf after the DOL certifies the Labor Condition Application.
How do I apply for Structural Engineer jobs at HR Green?
You can browse and apply for Structural Engineer openings at HR Green directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility. HR Green's application process typically involves submitting a resume, going through technical and behavioral interviews, and receiving an offer before any visa filing begins. Confirming sponsorship willingness early in the process saves time for both sides.
Which visa types does HR Green commonly use for Structural Engineers?
HR Green sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for Structural Engineer roles. For recent graduates, OPT and CPT are the most common starting points. Canadian and Mexican nationals often use the TN visa, which requires no USCIS petition and can be processed at the port of entry. H-1B is the primary long-term work visa pathway for most nationalities.
What qualifications does HR Green expect for Structural Engineer roles?
HR Green typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited program. Proficiency in structural analysis software such as RISA, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro is commonly expected. Many roles also value progress toward or achievement of EIT or PE licensure, particularly for positions tied to public infrastructure projects where stamped drawings are required.
How do I time my application around H-1B filing deadlines?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year, with the lottery typically completed by late March. To target that window, you need an offer in hand well before March so HR Green can register your petition. If you miss the lottery, TN status or an OPT extension can bridge the gap until the following cap season.
