Frame your credentials around U.S. event standards
Hyatt's Events teams handle large-scale conferences, weddings, and corporate accounts under U.S. hospitality norms. Translate your experience into metrics like room blocks managed, F&B revenue coordinated, or CVENT platform proficiency before you apply.
Target Hyatt properties with convention infrastructure
Full-service Hyatt Regency and Grand Hyatt properties carry the highest volume of sponsored Events hires because they run dedicated conference and catering divisions. Prioritize these over select-service brands when identifying open roles to pursue.
Browse open Events roles on Migrate Mate
Hyatt posts Events positions across multiple property types and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Hyatt Events openings that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not applying blindly to roles that won't support your situation.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Hyatt sponsors multiple visa categories for Events roles, including H-1B and TN. Ask the recruiter directly which petition type applies to your position and whether the company uses premium processing, since Events hiring timelines often align with peak season planning cycles.
Understand the H-1B cap and Hyatt's filing window
H-1B registrations open in March for an October 1 start date. If Hyatt extends an Events offer after April, your start date will likely be deferred a full year. Build that gap into your planning and discuss bridge options like F-1 OPT extension with your HR contact.
Document specialty occupation evidence for your Events title
USCIS scrutinizes hospitality roles under the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Gather evidence that your specific Events title, such as Event Sales Manager or Convention Services Manager, requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, marketing, or a related field.

Does Hyatt sponsor H-1B visas for Events roles?
Yes, Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Events positions. The role must meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as hospitality management or event marketing. Full-service properties like Hyatt Regency and Grand Hyatt are the most common hiring locations for sponsored Events roles.
How do I apply for Events jobs at Hyatt?
Apply directly through Hyatt's careers site or browse open Events positions that are open to visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. When applying, highlight experience with large-scale event operations, catering sales, or convention services. Mention your visa status early in the process so the recruiter can confirm sponsorship eligibility before moving you through interview rounds.
Which visa types does Hyatt commonly sponsor for Events positions?
Hyatt sponsors H-1B visas for professional Events roles and H-2B visas for temporary or seasonal event staffing needs. F-1 OPT and CPT are accepted for students in hospitality programs, and TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Events titles. For longer-term sponsorship, Hyatt also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for eligible employees.
What qualifications does Hyatt expect for sponsored Events roles?
Hyatt typically looks for a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event management, marketing, or a related field for sponsored Events hires. Hands-on experience with catering operations, group sales, or conference services is weighted heavily. Familiarity with industry tools like Delphi, CVENT, or Opera strengthens your application significantly, particularly for senior coordinator and manager-level roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Hyatt Events role?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 start date, creating a six-month gap. TN visas for Canadian nationals can be processed at the border with same-day approval. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to three years from initiation. Confirm with Hyatt's HR team whether premium processing is available for your petition to reduce USCIS adjudication time to roughly 15 business days.
