Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Events Jobs at American Heart Association Jobs
Tailor your portfolio to mission-driven events
American Heart Association prioritizes candidates who've managed health awareness campaigns, charity auctions, or community outreach events. Documenting measurable outcomes from similar non-profit or cause-based events strengthens your application well beyond a generic event coordinator resume.
Confirm your visa category before applying
American Heart Association sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas, but eligibility depends on your role classification and degree field. If you're on OPT, verify your STEM extension eligibility early since events roles don't always qualify for the 24-month extension.
Target roles tied to national programs
American Heart Association runs recurring national campaigns like Heart Month and Go Red for Women. Positions supporting these programs tend to have more structured hiring timelines and are more likely to involve formal sponsorship processes than one-off local event roles.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles
Non-profit events postings don't always disclose sponsorship availability upfront. Search for American Heart Association events jobs on Migrate Mate to surface only roles where sponsorship is confirmed, so you don't waste applications on positions that won't support your visa status.
Request an explicit sponsorship commitment before accepting
Before signing an offer, confirm in writing that the organization will file your I-129 or certify your LCA with DOL. Non-profits sometimes assume reimbursement-only arrangements satisfy sponsorship obligations, which can create complications during USCIS adjudication.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Coordinate your offer and negotiation window with American Heart Association's HR team well before that window so your petition is ready to file immediately after selection.

Find Events at American Heart Association JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does American Heart Association sponsor H-1B visas for Events roles?
Yes, American Heart Association does sponsor H-1B visas, including for Events positions that qualify as specialty occupations. Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as communications, marketing, or hospitality management, are most likely to meet USCIS specialty occupation standards. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team during your initial conversation.
How do I apply for Events jobs at American Heart Association?
You can search and apply through American Heart Association's careers portal or browse verified sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions open to candidates needing visa sponsorship. When applying, highlight experience with large-scale fundraising events, volunteer coordination, or public health campaigns, since those align closely with the organization's mission and typical events work.
Which visa types are commonly used for Events roles at American Heart Association?
American Heart Association supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for eligible candidates. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering events coordination, while H-1B sponsorship applies to longer-term hires in roles meeting specialty occupation criteria. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, though events roles require careful classification.
What qualifications are expected for Events positions at American Heart Association?
Most mid-level events roles require a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public health, or a related field, plus hands-on experience managing multi-stakeholder events. Familiarity with donor cultivation events, silent auctions, or public awareness campaigns is a strong differentiator. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must align directly with the job's core duties, not just the industry.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a sponsored Events role at American Heart Association?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you have up to 60 days after your program end date to secure employment before your grace period expires. For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your I-129 to USCIS. Start conversations with American Heart Association's HR team at least four to six months before your authorization deadline to allow adequate processing time.
