Frame your credentials around U.S. specialty occupation standards
Event coordinator and catering manager roles at hotel brands like Omni must qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B purposes. A hospitality management, event planning, or business degree strengthens your petition considerably over a generalist background.
Target properties with dedicated convention or conference facilities
Omni hotels with large meeting and convention footprints hire events staff more regularly than smaller leisure properties. Filtering your applications to those locations puts you in front of the teams most likely to have active headcount and sponsorship appetite.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization before your first interview
If you're on F-1 status, Omni's HR teams will ask about your current work authorization early. Arrive with your CPT authorization letter or OPT EAD card ready, and know your exact expiration date so you can discuss H-1B timing without hesitation.
Build your Events job search using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to surface open events roles at Omni Hotels that are actively open to visa sponsorship candidates. Filtering by visa type saves time and ensures you're applying where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Negotiate the offer timeline around USCIS filing windows
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask Omni's HR team whether the role can accommodate a delayed start or whether cap-exempt pathways apply through any affiliated entities.
Confirm Omni's TN eligibility before accepting a Canadian or Mexican offer
TN status covers hotel managers and certain business roles, but the job title must align with a recognized USMCA category. Before accepting an offer, verify with Omni's legal or HR team that your specific events title maps to a qualifying TN occupation.

Does Omni Hotels sponsor H-1B visas for Events roles?
Yes, Omni Hotels has sponsored H-1B visas for hospitality and events functions. Sponsorship is not automatic for every open role, so the clearest path is to raise it directly during the offer stage. Roles tied to large convention properties tend to have more sponsorship precedent than smaller front-of-house positions.
How do I apply for Events jobs at Omni Hotels?
Open Events positions at Omni Hotels are listed on their careers portal and on Migrate Mate, where you can filter specifically for roles open to visa sponsorship. Tailor your resume to hospitality event operations and include any measurable outcomes from past roles, such as event scale, catering volumes, or team coordination experience.
Which visa types are commonly used for Events roles at Omni Hotels?
H-1B is the most common route for full-time sponsored hires in events and conference management. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for students and recent graduates completing internships or early-career positions. TN visas can apply for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management-level roles where the job title maps to a recognized USMCA category.
What qualifications does Omni Hotels expect for Events positions?
Most events coordinator and banquet manager roles at Omni require a degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field. Hands-on experience with high-volume catering, audiovisual setup coordination, or corporate conference logistics is weighted heavily. For H-1B sponsorship, having a directly relevant degree matters because USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship process when targeting Omni Hotels?
H-1B registration opens in March, with cap-subject approvals taking effect October 1. If you secure an offer from Omni Hotels earlier in the year, your employer files during the April window. If you're on OPT, a timely H-1B registration keeps you covered by the cap-gap rule, which extends F-1 status automatically through September 30 while your petition is pending at USCIS.
