Target engineering and R&D roles first
Infineon's sponsorship activity is concentrated in highly technical positions, chip design, power electronics, embedded systems, and process engineering. Focus your applications on roles where a specialized degree is clearly required, as these align most naturally with H-1B specialty occupation criteria.
Understand Infineon's dual-track sponsorship
Infineon sponsors both H-1B visas for temporary work authorization and Green Cards through employment-based immigrant categories. If long-term U.S. residence is your goal, ask during the offer stage whether the company initiates Green Card sponsorship for your role.
Align your degree with the specific job function
H-1B approval at electronics companies depends on a clear match between your field of study and the position. A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or materials science will support most Infineon filings far more credibly than a general STEM background.
Research Infineon's U.S. office locations strategically
Infineon has engineering and design centers across several U.S. states. Some locations focus on automotive semiconductors, others on industrial or power management. Applying to sites aligned with your technical specialty improves both interview relevance and sponsorship likelihood.
Search for verified Infineon openings on Migrate Mate
Not every job posting makes visa sponsorship clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find Infineon roles confirmed to support international candidates, saving time you'd otherwise spend chasing unconfirmed listings.
Prepare for a technical-first interview process
Infineon's hiring in electronics and semiconductor roles is heavily technical. Expect design challenges, system-level problem solving, and domain-specific questions. Demonstrating depth in your specialty signals the kind of hard-to-replace expertise that makes sponsorship a straightforward business decision for the team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Infineon Technologies sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Infineon Technologies sponsors H-1B visas on a consistent basis. The company is an active sponsor in the electronics and semiconductor industry, filing H-1B petitions primarily for engineering, chip design, and technical research roles. Candidates with specialized degrees in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related fields are the strongest fit for H-1B sponsorship at Infineon.
What types of visas does Infineon Technologies sponsor?
Infineon sponsors H-1B visas for temporary skilled work authorization and supports employment-based Green Card petitions, typically through the EB-2 or EB-3 categories. H-1B sponsorship covers the initial work authorization, while Green Card sponsorship is generally initiated for employees in longer-term technical or engineering positions after they've joined the company.
Which departments or roles at Infineon Technologies are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Infineon is concentrated in highly technical functions, semiconductor design, power electronics, embedded firmware, process engineering, and hardware verification. These roles require specialized degrees and domain expertise that align directly with H-1B specialty occupation requirements. Corporate, sales, and generalist business roles are sponsored far less frequently.
How do I find open positions at Infineon Technologies that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find Infineon roles confirmed for visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs by verified sponsorship history, so you're not guessing whether Infineon will sponsor a specific opening. Focus your search on engineering and R&D titles, as those are the functions where Infineon's sponsorship activity is strongest.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting Infineon Technologies for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date, so timing your job search to receive an offer by late February or early March is critical. Infineon is an established employer familiar with this process. If you're already on OPT or another status, cap-exempt or change-of-status options may also apply depending on your situation.
