Align your credentials to KBR's project scope
KBR's manufacturing work spans defense systems, government infrastructure, and industrial services. Tailor your resume to highlight experience in regulated production environments, quality systems like AS9100 or ISO, and cross-functional project delivery rather than purely commercial manufacturing.
Identify which KBR business unit is hiring
KBR operates through distinct segments including Government Solutions and Sustainable Technology Solutions. The sponsorship pathway and role requirements differ by business unit, so target your applications to the segment where your manufacturing background fits most directly.
Confirm your visa category matches the role level
KBR sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories for Manufacturing Engineers. If you hold a master's degree or can demonstrate exceptional progressive experience, EB-2 may apply. A standard four-year engineering degree with relevant experience typically maps to EB-3.
Prepare for the PERM labor certification timeline
Green Card sponsorship at KBR goes through the DOL PERM process, which can take 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is even filed. Align your employment start date and visa status timeline accordingly so you're not caught in a gap.
Use Migrate Mate to filter KBR's open roles by sponsorship type
Not every open Manufacturing Engineer listing at KBR actively invites sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where sponsorship has been confirmed, so you apply where your visa situation is already accounted for in the hiring process.
Address security clearance requirements early
Many KBR manufacturing roles supporting government or defense contracts require eligibility for a U.S. security clearance. Clarify clearance requirements before your final interview round, since clearance eligibility can affect both your visa pathway and your offer timeline.

Does KBR sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Engineers?
KBR's documented sponsorship activity for Manufacturing Engineers is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories rather than H-1B. That said, sponsorship practices vary by role, business unit, and hiring year. If you're currently on H-1B status with another employer, KBR can file an H-1B transfer, but you'll want to confirm Green Card sponsorship intent directly during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Engineer jobs at KBR?
Applications go through KBR's careers portal at kbr.com/en/careers. Search by job function and location, then filter for engineering roles. Before applying broadly, use Migrate Mate to identify which open Manufacturing Engineer positions at KBR have a confirmed sponsorship track record, so you prioritize listings where your visa situation fits the role's hiring parameters.
Which visa types does KBR commonly use to sponsor Manufacturing Engineers?
KBR's sponsorship for Manufacturing Engineers is primarily through employment-based Green Card categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3. EB-3 is the more common path for candidates with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering plus standard experience. EB-2 applies where the role requires an advanced degree or a candidate can demonstrate exceptional ability. The process runs through DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition.
What qualifications does KBR expect for a sponsored Manufacturing Engineer?
Most Manufacturing Engineer roles at KBR require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or a closely related engineering discipline. Practical experience with production processes, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and cross-functional project coordination is expected. Roles supporting defense or government contracts may also require demonstrated experience with regulated supply chains or government contract environments, and security clearance eligibility is often a factor.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing Engineer at KBR?
Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-stage process. DOL PERM labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months. Once certified, KBR files an I-140 with USCIS, which takes several more months. If your priority date is current, you can then file for adjustment of status. Total timelines from offer to Green Card approval commonly run two to four years, depending on your country of birth and visa backlog.
