Align your credentials with KBR's requirements
KBR's Project Manager roles in manufacturing typically expect a PMP certification or equivalent engineering background. If your credentials were earned outside the U.S., get them evaluated through a NACES-member service before applying, so your application clears initial screening without delays.
Target KBR's manufacturing and industrial programs
KBR consistently recruits Project Managers for large-scale industrial and government services contracts. Focus your search on roles tied to these programs, since they carry longer project timelines and make multi-year sponsorship commitments more viable for the employer.
Understand which visa categories KBR uses
KBR has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for Project Manager roles, which means PERM labor certification is typically part of the process. Ask your recruiter early whether the role is structured to support that pathway alongside any nonimmigrant status.
Time your application around PERM filing windows
PERM labor certification through DOL can take six months or longer before an I-140 petition is even filed. If you're already in H-1B status, confirm the employer is prepared to start PERM early enough to maintain your status continuity through the green card process.
Prepare for KBR's project scope interview questions
KBR interviews for Project Managers in manufacturing heavily test budget ownership, schedule management, and cross-functional team leadership on complex contracts. Bring documented examples with measurable outcomes, since vague answers on scope and delivery risk are common reasons qualified candidates don't advance.
Find open roles filtered by sponsorship using Migrate Mate
Sorting through which KBR postings are realistically open to sponsored candidates takes time. Use Migrate Mate to browse Project Manager openings at KBR filtered by visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where international candidates are already being considered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does KBR sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
KBR's primary sponsorship track for Project Manager roles has leaned toward permanent residence pathways like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than H-1B visa. That said, sponsorship decisions depend on the specific contract, program type, and hiring manager. When you receive an offer, confirm directly with HR whether H-1B or another nonimmigrant status is supported for that position.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at KBR?
Applications go through KBR's careers portal. Search by role title and filter for locations tied to manufacturing or industrial programs, where Project Manager hiring is most active. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse KBR's open Project Manager roles filtered specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves time identifying the right postings.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Manager roles at KBR?
KBR has used EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories for Project Manager sponsorship, both of which require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before USCIS can adjudicate the I-140 petition. Depending on your background, EB-2 applies if your role requires an advanced degree, while EB-3 covers positions requiring a standard bachelor's degree and relevant experience.
What qualifications does KBR expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Most Project Manager openings at KBR in manufacturing require a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field, along with several years of progressively complex project ownership experience. PMP certification is frequently listed as a requirement rather than a preference. Relevant industry experience in industrial, government services, or large-scale infrastructure contracts strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Project Manager at KBR?
If KBR sponsors you through the EB-2 or EB-3 route, expect the PERM labor certification stage alone to take six months to over a year with DOL, followed by USCIS processing of the I-140. Total timeline to a Green Card depends heavily on your country of birth due to per-country visa backlogs. Starting the conversation early in your offer negotiation is essential.
