Align your PMP credential with Carrier's requirements
Carrier's Project Manager postings in manufacturing operations frequently list PMP certification as preferred or required. Holding an active PMP signals you can manage cross-functional teams in regulated production environments, which strengthens your candidacy before sponsorship conversations begin.
Target Carrier's manufacturing and HVAC divisions first
Carrier's highest Project Manager hiring volume sits in its HVAC and industrial refrigeration units. Roles tied to factory operations, supplier quality, or new product introduction in those divisions follow more predictable sponsorship workflows than corporate or joint-venture roles.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Project Manager roles at Carrier by visa type
Carrier posts Project Manager openings across multiple divisions simultaneously. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for roles that align with your visa category, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already part of the hiring plan.
Clarify TN eligibility before your Carrier interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering or management roles may qualify for TN status, which requires no USCIS petition and can be obtained at the border or port of entry. Confirm your job title and duties map to a qualifying TN category before your offer stage.
Prepare a skills summary linking your degree to Carrier's specialty occupation requirements
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires the Project Manager role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Document how your degree field, whether engineering, operations management, or supply chain, directly corresponds to the technical duties in Carrier's specific job description.
Time your application around Carrier's H-1B cap-subject filing window
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, Carrier must register in the USCIS lottery each March for an October 1 start date. Structure your job search so you have an offer in hand before February, giving your employer enough lead time to participate in registration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Carrier sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Carrier sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles, particularly in its HVAC, refrigeration, and fire and security divisions. Sponsorship is most consistent for positions with clearly defined technical or engineering responsibilities, where the role meets USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Roles tied to manufacturing operations or new product programs tend to follow an established sponsorship process.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Carrier?
Apply directly through Carrier's careers portal and tailor your application to the specific division and product line listed in the job posting. Highlight experience managing cross-functional manufacturing projects, supplier relationships, or capital programs. Raise your sponsorship needs early in the recruiter screening call rather than waiting for the offer stage, as Carrier's HR team will need to coordinate with legal before extending a sponsored offer.
Which visa types does Carrier commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Carrier sponsors H-1B visas for most international Project Managers and also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students or recent graduates in eligible programs. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status depending on their degree and the specific duties of the role. The right visa category depends on your nationality, degree field, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Carrier typically expect for Project Manager roles?
Carrier generally expects a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience managing projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Familiarity with HVAC systems, supply chain operations, or new product introduction processes gives candidates a material advantage for division-specific roles.
How do I find Project Manager roles at Carrier that include visa sponsorship?
Carrier posts Project Manager openings across multiple divisions, and not every role includes sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters Carrier's active listings by visa type, so you can identify positions where sponsorship aligns with your situation without manually reviewing every posting. Focusing on manufacturing operations and HVAC division roles gives you the best chance of finding a match.
